It didn't take Pepper long to figure out who would have sent her such a message, even thought she hadn't really expected to hear from him after... well, after. Truthfully, she'd been shut away for a few days while just to give herself time to settle. Translating the message with books picked up from the town library had been enough to push her back into action, and she'd gone home the next day to visit her mother. Who had in turn, dragged her to church. Pepper had sat boredly on the hard wood bench and flipped through the Bible in a half-interested way, until something occured to her. She started reading through Genesis.

Bloody apple. How could she have been so stupid ( ... )

Crowley found his basket not long after and smiled faintly. He read the message with ease, not terribly surprised to see the gratitude, modesty, and return of spirits, but intrigued to find the geranium. He picked it up and glanced at the stairs. A moment later he was walking up them toward Pepper's room once more.

The demon knocked on the door and waited patiently, twirling the flower in his fingers.

Didn't take him long, she was pleased to discover, and while she was in the middle of folding the clothes she'd neglected in her laundry basket, she heard a knock. She probably should have shoved the clothes basket under her bed or done something to make everything more presentable, but she'd forgotten, like she usually did, and hadn't even bothered to think how a room full of classic rock and faded protest posters would look to a six-thousand-year-old demon.

Still carrying a folded towel over her arm, she opened the door perhaps a little swiftly. "That was fast," she quipped.

He bowed, taking in the state of her room instantly. It looked just like he thought it would. Crowley smiled. "Far be it from me to keep my lady waiting."
