Having discovered Pepper's room number from the shabby looking night clerk at the front desk - the one who'd interrupted his first conversation with Black, but was still better to inquire of than Uriel - Crowley made his way up to the third floor and left a small basket outside her door. Inside the basket was a peach, a pear, an apple, and a few cranberries artfully arranged with a sprig of spruce pine, a monkshood blossom, and a thornless burgundy rose identical to the one he gave her at their first meeting. If she remembered their conversation about sending secret messages and did some research, she'd figure out what he meant.
