I know that this just may be my opinion since art IS interpretive after all or it just may be the fact that I A: hate Aladdin with a passion due to reasons you should already know, (look up Thief and the Cobbler kiddies) B: with each year I've grown to appreciate Shrek (and, to a lesser extent Monsters Inc.) less and less, or C: I voted Fantasia.
Ok I'll admit that Beauty and the Beast is a damn good movie and, Hell, I think South Park : The Movie (wrong title but give me a break) is a mini-masterpiece in and of itself but fucking Fantasia is a bona-fide work of art. Even Nightmare Before X-Mas can't touch it gothies!
If the poll isn't "Which one of these animated movies should be in the IMDb Top 250?" then just keep clicking the view previous polls button at the bottom of the page to see what I mean.
Yes I know the IMDB top 250 is a complete joke but I think the fact that this represents our nation's popular opinion confirms all my cynicism regarding the movie-going public. "I don't see a deserving film here." Fuck you. On a list where Star Wars sits at #8 and Lord of the Rings reaches #12 (they're not bad movies, not at all, but out of ALL the movies in the world!?) I think Fantasia deserves to be on there to balance things out.
IMDB...the source of much elation and frustration for anybody out there that considers themselves a "real" film buff.
P.S. This list ( http://www.theyshootpictures.com/gf1000.htm ) is the be-all end-all statement for "movie lists" and a MUCH more accurate view on what the actual good movies are and where they should stand. I'm proud to say that Fantasia rests comfortably there at 255. Hey, it's beating Snow White by 43...woot!
