I think I'm going to try retail again as far as looking for a part-time job. It's what I have experience in, unfortunately, and seems to be the only thing that's hiring now. I know the pay is crap, but well, I'm broke.
I am NOT going to work at a store, however, that will tempt me to buy. That is why I cannot go back to JCPenney, Best Buy or Express. I also do not want to work for a store that pressures you to sell their credit cards. I am personally against that and believe that's part of the reason we are in such a financial mess. People buy unnecessary things that they cannot afford.
So...that excludes clothing stores, arts and crafts stores, and accessory stores that sell purses. I don't want to even tempt myself. I want to work weekends, and occasionally during the week if need be...but since my full-time job is flexible I don't want to commit to weekday nights.
So...some stores I have come up with so far are PetSmart and Toys R' Us. I don't have pets or kids, and they don't have their own credit cards. Anyone know about working for them? Any other suggestions you guys have? Or suggest something else? I wish I had experience waitressing or bartending.
