If my calculations are correct, it has been about six months since I have written in my live journal; a lot has happened, but not much of it has been bad, and I have been happily busy, so I don't sit down and write here much anymore.
Scott and I are going strong, and the longer I am with him, the more confident I am that he is the one I've been waiting on my whole life; we make each other laugh, and have fun together....we can be strolling around the shops in Charleston SC, watching sitcoms on TV, playing D&D at a friend's house, or frolicking at the local Renaissance festival....and it is always.....perfect. I can't think of any other man who would make me feel as loved, as comfortable, as cozy, or as happy as he does.
Enough of the mushy, gooey, lovey-dove sentiment; other things have occurred. I found out last month that my employer, Medco, is being bought out by another prescription carrier called Express Scripts. The CEO keeps stressing that the merger will not be finalized for at least 6 more months, but as I look into this on my own, I have a bad feeling about us work from home people keeping our jobs. The impression I get from this process is that if the FTC does not approve the merger, it is business as usual for the phone drones, but if it is approved, we become Express Scripts employees....that company is based in another state....I want to say Michigan...and it sounds like we would have to move there to keep our jobs. There was even information on the employee web site stating that we will be able to take severance packages if we cannot move for the job. All in all, it isn't looking bright and sunny for us Medco folks....I might be perusing careerbuilder.com in the next few months to see what the current job market looks like.
In other news, Dragon*Con is in about 17 days...I am very excited to finally be able to go; it will be my first time attending....last year I was unable to attend due to the nightmare of my brother's death the day before the trip. I am nervous again this year; I hope nothing terrible happens to jinx my plans. I am thinking that being busy on September 2 is just what I need to keep my mind off of Mike. I don't want to sit around and mope on the anniversary of his accident. I will try to have fun and picture Mike laughing at me and my geeky costumes. My hobbies always make other family members groan, but it's who I am.
I hope that everyone out there in LJ land is doing well; feel free to comment below, even if just to say hi and give me updates on your own lives.
