Long-Ass Time.....
It has been a month or more since I posted-I apologize for that. A lot has happened, so it might take a few posts to catch you all up.
Christmas with Ash and his family was nice-no one expected anything from me, and they treated me well. We exchanged gifts, ate a lot of homemade Southern food, and watched a lot of movies.
New Year's Eve was also good-it was fixing to be a quiet night with Ash and Alec, until Amber and Scott texted me at about 1030 pm, from a party. I was being paged; everyone wanted me to come, so I did. I had been afraid of seeing nothing but couples, and that would have bothered me...but it turned out to be a rather small affair, about 15 guests. It was nice; snackage, free alcohol, and even a little Rock Band 3 for good measure.
One of the gifts I received this year, incidentally, was a one year gift subscription to E Harmony; my sister, brother in law, and sister in law all chipped in and purchased it. Samantha told me over the phone that they want to see me find a man within the next year. I am totally on board with this plan, believe me. I activated the account about two weeks ago, and so far, I am emailing one guy, named Scott, who lives about an hour from Charlotte. It seems to be going well so far..I plan to call him this weekend.
And of course, I moved on January 15th. It went well; better than I expected. Alec, James and Scott helped me move all the heavy stuff; furniture and appliances. My big black couch almost did not make it into the new place-steep stairs and goofy angles conspired against us...but we got it in here, so yay for geometry. It has been 10 days, and so far, so good. Todd and Amber are good roommates, and we have our own separate living areas. My bedroom and bathroom are downstairs, theirs are upstairs. My work station went into the spare bedroom, so I no longer have to work in the same room where I sleep. That is a huge plus.
This post is getting a bit long, so I'll write more later. Just wanted to come back on to the social radar.
