Cast is off! Another set of x-rays confirms that healing continues, nicely. :) As for the "what do I go home with" issue, I have the best of both worlds; an air cast that fits inside a shoe, that can get wet, and I can remove it when I want. Dr. said to put as much weight on it as I feel comfortable with, and increase.

I also have PT instructions, since he said 'you probably don't want to go do a physical therapist, since it's $150 an hour'. :)

Upon returning home, I hit the tub to clean off as much of the ick as the sensitive skin would permit. I've also removed what I can only describe as compelling evidence that my father is the parent genetically responsible for my ability to grow leg hair. The skin underneath it all is weirdly sensitive. It's uncomfortable to even have the pants leg cloth or seam rub on it as I walk. That too, shall pass.

It's too early to see what my progress will be like. I'd *like* to have enough use by the end of this week to be able to drive. That might be pushing it though.

Right now the aircast is off, the leg is slathered in warm lotion from toes to under the knee, (skin was DRY), and the whole thing is bagged and wrapped in a blanket to soak in the moisture. I'm actually planning to leave the aircast off as much as possible when I'm sitting; it'll encourage me to move the foot around more.

ankle, recovery
