I hope everyone had a good holiday, however you celebrate it. :)
Eric, Ana and Stefan came over for Christmas Eve. That's when my family normally celebrates. I cooked dinner, and Ana made one of her amazing cakes. It looked like a present, with a fondant bow that had scalloped edges with gold, and a Santa figure sitting on one side and an elf on the other. Eric had told her to make the elf's pants in "his favorite color". She put pink pants on the elf just to razz him. :)
I had gotten Eric a tropical fish themed wind chime; Ana got pecans and one of the scented candles I'd bought during my trip, Stefan got Gummi Gators and some wooden 3D puzzles that I'd found at the Port Chester Flea market (they were a buck each!). Ana, Eric and mom all got Lindtt chocolates. Kenny got a dragon egg with two baby dragons hatching out of it, (it has a hinged lid; the inside is hollow as a keepsake box), and two pairs of cushy Thorlo socks (he'd been coveting the fluffy Hanes socks I'd brought back for mom and myself).
I got a bunch of sweaters (five!), so I think I may start wearing more sweaters this year. I like them, I just don't like *washing* them, because they have to be washed separately.
I had managed, for the first time in several years, to get all the stuffing ingredients together (vegies chopped, bread toasted and shredded, sausage cooked) the night before I had to cook the turkey. Since that meant I had extra cooked sausage, I made biscuits and sausage gravy. I got Kenny to try some on Christmas morning. (His review of it was "Mom, it was delicious, but I'm never doing it again". *L*)
Right now I have a tray of banana cake cooling downstairs, and I need to go out and buy some milk.
Mom has not eaten much the past few days. She has breakfast, but says she isn't hungry for lunch or dinner. She has had NO turkey. Ya know, I thought it would be a nice switch from all the mac and beef or frozen food she usually wants to eat, and days before she was saying she didn't want any.
I think for lunch today I'm sitting her at the table and putting food in front of her because this is ridiculous. She's at least drinking Boost in place of the meals she's not eating, but that's not really good in the long term. :(
