three quick things
I probably shouldn't be telling the world this, but I guess it's not really a secret - I mean it's not exactly the kind of thing you can really hide. I just got word last night from a friend that two of our mutual friends just ran off and eloped the other day. I'm not going to say any names here, so don't bother asking, and my friend knows the two of them much more than I do. But that certainly didn't take any of the shock value away from it. One possible reason cited was to possibly get revenge on the woman's mother who apparently absolutely shuns living together before marriage. I'm honestly not really sure what to say about it aside from it really ruins the kind of images and meaning I think marriage has. Not to mention I can just see this going somewhere really bad in the next week or possibly couple months. Not to even touch what could happen in a couple years with this. Honestly, the only real response I have to this is, "WTF?!?"
I saw my friend off this morning at the station before going to the gym. She's travelling to Thailand and St. Lucia before heading home to Canada - she just finished her one-year contract at Aeon and had a flight later today. It's always easier when you're the one leaving than watching someone else leave, but I know we'll meet up in one country or another sometime in the relatively near future.
That, and colds suck. I think I can get rid of mine in a couple days, I hope, but still - unfortunately kids (no matter what country you're in) don't know to cover their mouths when they cough and noses when they sneeze. That is all.
