Ventrilo server can do in such manner...
It seems you've disabled some of "options COMPAT_FREEBSD" in kernel configuration. Try to enable them. Some programs that are distributed in binaries can use legacy system call.

Got a "Warning has been treated as error" while rebuilding FreeBSD's world or just recompiling kernel?!

Check your Make.conf. It can be caused by too high level of optimization. If you have "-O3" in your CFLAGS, just try to use at least -O2. This should help...
This issue can be reproduced in RELEASE 8.0...
