i realise i hadn't posted this, probably for a month or more :P
i think what makes stewie from family guy so endearing is that he was born evil, but he chose to become good. he still has evil streaks now and then, but seriously, he tries to do the right thing at times and that's really sweet. he and meg are probably the wisest in the family, and it sucks they have such a dysfunctional one. in fact, he's quite protective over all his family members, even if he has some matricidal tendencies.
i used to like brian, but he's getting really irresponsible and pretentious in season 10 :S but the fact that seth macfarlane likened himself to brian since day 1 means that season 10 must have been a bit of a dark time man.
but stewie nowadays says really sweet things. for instance, he instructed the space camp instructor to "take care of (chris). he means the world to me, man." he changed a brilliant play he wrote so that brian could regain some self-esteem. he gives meg advice at times. he has a usual snarky side, but he cares for his family members.
in season 11, we also see that meg and chris have become more close as siblings :') i think it's really sweet how they are starting to look out for each other, and how chris does treasure meg as a sister.
