Blah... didn't sleep till 5 am AGAIN.
The Moderns paper yesterday was easy and straightforward. I guess my gripe this time is the fact that there were a lot of foundations to lay down when handling the questions - certain terms like Mythic archetypes, Creative energy, stream of consciousness and what not... that took over a paragraph to elaborate each, so there wasn't really enough time for me to write something kick-ass. It was alright, but I'm pretty much a perfectionist when it comes to my essays and I'm still not entirely satisfied with it. But considering that I was functioning on only 3 hours of sleep the night before, I'd say I did awesome. :D
Anywho, I attempted a Joyce context question (which was really straightforward), stumbled through Hughes for author study and his treatment of death in his Crow poems and muddled through comparisons between Kafka and Philip Roth. It was alright, but I underestimated the complexity of Hughes' Crow poems. It was the quote that troubled me... something about "Writing done in the memory of the dead, and if affirms my present existence". All I can do is mention that death is not annihilating as the the influence of the past lingers through the human consciousness through the manifestation of mythic archetypes. As for Kafka and Roth, don't ask. I must have went on to auto pilot because for the life of me, I can't remember what was it that I wrote. All I know was I wrote a LOT, so it probably went okay. :D
In other news, I'm hooked on both Sims 2: University as well as the Prince of Persia: Warrior Within. The Uni expansion rocked but for some reasons, there were several Sims who decided to run around campus with no clothes on. It's not necessarily a bad thing obviously, but when you want to catch up with them to make conversations with them, they'd just continue running around, dodging everyone, and just being plain weird. As for the Prince of Persia, he's awesome and hot and so bendy, but he keeps jumping off platforms at a wrong angle, killing himself in an instant. Either I suck at playing, or the controls are really weird, because I don't recall having this same problem when I played the Prince on XboX. :/
