verb disapproving; to talk and behave towrads (someone) in a loud and unpleasantly forceful way, esp. in order to get them to act or think as you want them to.
E.g. Audiences do not want to be hectored by aggressive, unsympathetic speakers.
My example: Hector was hectored by Achilles, but did not let the hectoring hasten his movement.
My addition:
[2] adverb to be boisterously noisy; oft used with "smash".
E.g. He hector-smashed his way out of the building.
[3] verb to force your way upon another
E.g. Achilles hectored Hec- Er. Forget it.
