Shit that is weird:
Someone invented nails.
That is really weird if you think about it. Someone, like, came up with schematics for nails. Possibly there was even a trial and error period (the first attempt had two blunt ends, and carpenters didn't really get why blacksmiths were so stoked about making pegs out of metal instead of wood).
Which also brings up the fact that there was also a time before, and therefore a development of, peg & hole carpentry.
