Happy Valentine's Day!

Of course, Josh and I aren't doing anything cause if we were anymore lovey dovey than we already are, one of us would end up throwing up. Besides we have class tonight until almost 10. So that takes up most of our day. But at least the xbox is at Josh's house so after school we can play games until late or use it as a DVD player. I might get my ( Read more... )

I think I lost all interest in Xiu Xiu when I heard they covered "Under Pressure."

To be fair, I still haven't heard it, and I'm sure my reaction to it is incredibly petty and ridiculous, but covering that song just seems really unnecessary for any band.

Probably doesn't help that I don't especially like the original, though.

Agreed. Nobody should cover that song. It's unnecessary like you said. But I honestly don't think you should bother with this CD there are probably a total of 3 I'll listen to all the way and a few I'll get through the majority. But there is this one song I think it's number three it is SO bad. It starts out, "there is no right, there is no wrong, there is only wrong." Something like that so it's just bleck. This cd makes me almost not want to go see them when they tour because I know they'll be playing this stuff, they always play older stuff too but my feelings about the band have changed as a whole. I think they've passed their prime. On another note I have been obsessed with A Silver Mt. Zion lately. If you havent' been listening to them lately, listen to them more.

I'm a really big fan of the album. I don't consider that shock value; in fact, i very much doubt that he's referring to his childhood.

I spent my valentines day with a paint brush. hollaaa

I very much doubt that he was referring to his childhood as well but I just want to know why he feels it's necessary to include parent/child incest on more than one album. It's on another cd as well, can't rememeber which one I want to say Knife Play but I'm not sure. This album gave me a very pretentious vibe like he feels this is what is expected of him know and he's not as experimental.

I spent my Valentines day at work and school and then watching Stella, I also watched some very funny episodes of South Park too. It was good.

I realize that the "too" at the end isn't needed, but I feel mean deleting it now.

Have you seen Reanimator? It's an awesome movie. You need to see it if you haven't.

Under pressure, both the original and cover, are great, by the by. God bless Bowie and his huge cock.

I prefer the Bowie version but Carolee does sound cute when she sings and the guest singer or whatever was also impressive.
