Badger's Sett Week 1 - Fairfax

Feb 03, 2013 10:54

Expedition leader Lexi Fairfax is the only one of the group to get a place all to herself. Granted, the place is just a small, simple blockhut with only the most basic comforts, but after weeks and weeks of travelling in a truck and sleeping in tents with her rather unwashed fellow settlers, some privacy seems very luxurious indeed.

The blockhut only has one room, which houses every earthly possession that Lexi managed to take with her, as well as a couple of things that have been built for her, like the kitchen counters and most of the heavy furniture. Adrian the architect crafted most of them, with the help of Licas Rolfe, who is quite proficient in welding and working metal on top of being a mechanic.

No running water means no functioning lavatory, so most of the settlers have an outhouse dug towards the back of the plot. It's slightly more civilised than doing your business in the bushes, but having to trek outside for your daily ablutions can get a bit annoying. Not to mention cold, in the early mornings

Like the other settlers, Lexi did bring a select few comforts and decorations with her. Luggage space was limited for the trip, but by virtue of being the leader, Lexi managed to find some space for her favourite chairs.

A proper mattress and soft bedding are comforts not to be sneezed at in the middle of nowhere, either. At least they give Lexi a comfortable place to brush up on her leadership skills.

Lexi: "How to make friends and influence sims... that could be useful."

Still, living all on your own has its drawbacks. Lexi does get a little lonely without any housemates around.

Luckily Adrian breaks the monotony of living alone with regular visits.

Lexi and Adrian have been getting more serious, but Lexi is still a little hesitant to make things official. What if things don't work out after all? In a town of ten sims, it'd be pretty hard not to constantly run into your ex. Not to mention that they'd still have to work together to plan and build

Being the leader means that Lexi's door is always open for sims with questions, ideas, and sometimes grievances.

Nikolai: "I've said from the beginning that recruiting that Licas Rolfe woud not be a good idea. He used to be a bikergang member, for crying out loud! He's already chased off poor Ella, he's pretty much turned his plot of land into a scrapyard, and I've seen him look at my sister in a way I'm really not happy with!"

Lexi: "Alright, there were some struggles with Ella and Licas when they moved in, but they were just a bad matchup. Ella's perfectly happy living with June now, so that's sorted out, and for your information, she's no little angel either. Licas' plot is full of scrapmetal and other bits, yes, but he's the one who's doing all the physical work on getting us electricity and clean water! Where else is he going to store his materials? And as for your sister, she's a big girl and can take care of herself. Otherwise we wouldn't have put her in charge of security in the first place."

Nikolai: "But I... There's still... Hmpfh!"

Lexi might be slightly biased, as she and Licas get along swimmingly. They like the same sort of music, share the same sort of humour, and have a great time hanging out together.

Licas: "Their last album couldn't beat 'Reaper Sim' though, I think their new guitarist OH SWEET PLUMBOB LOOK AT THE TIME I BETTER GO!"

Lexi: "It's only just getting dark outside...?"

Licas: "Too... late..."

Licas: "ARRRROOOOOOOOOO!"

Lexi: "HOLY CRAP YOUR HAIR GOT SHORTER!"

Licas: *runs out into the night*

The next morning, Lexi figures she better pay a visit to Licas to get a grip on what happened the night before.

Licas: "I can totally explain. Well, actually, I can't. I'll go pack my bags."

Lexi: "Uhm, that's not going to be necessary. But I think it's best if we keep your furry little secret just between the two of us for now, okay? I'm the first to say none of us can help the way we're made, but I'm pretty sure not everyone here would be that accepting of having a werewolf for a neighbour. I think we better put you on a curfew so little surprises like that aren't going to happen anymore."

Licas: "You mean I can stay?! Sure, curfew, anything you want! Thanks so much, Lexi!"

Licas: "Let me show you my... appreciation."

Lexi: "Ahahahaha... Oh my goodness look at the time gotta go bye now!"

Well that was the first update, hope you enjoyed :)
