BaCC: The Picklethorpe Family
Next in line is everyone's favourite Grilled Cheese Sim, Arthur! Well, everyone in town's favourite Grilled Cheese Sim anyway. Arthur is extremely well-loved in the community, something he's rather shocked to find out himself. After his first day in the town he was already friends with more than half the inhabitants, and seemed pretty determined to befriend the other half as well.
And really, who can resist a face like this?
This is Arthur's house. Davin and Myra helped him build it, and donated two fruit-trees and some flowers to get him started on his own garden. It's by far the nicest house in town, the others are really just wooden huts where function trumps form.
First point of order: make a grilled cheese sandwich, of course :)
Possibly attracted by the delicious smell of grilled cheese, Arthur had a few early visitors already. I thought it was just really cute how he greeted Nate (all by himself as well!). I guess his initial reaction at Nate's undeadness has worn off and he's getting to see the gentle soul behind the decay.
Arthur brings out the best in everyone, it seems. Nate was quick to give him some fatherly advice, which Arthur was eager to listen to.
Myra came over to check up on him as well. They're besties already .
Myra: 'What this place needs is a TV, really. I'm getting a sore butt from sitting on the ground chatting.'
The smell of cooking attracts another visitor, Rose Lovelace. I've no idea why Arthur greets everyone with that kissy-kissy gesture, but it's pretty awesome :D
Nom nom nom.
Arthur's very playful, and his fun meter is pretty hard to keep up without many entertainment options. Jumping around on the couch seems to keep him somewhat happy though. Keep that up, young man, and you'll break it!
Much better. Arthur rolls a lot of cooking skill wants, so he spends quite a bit of time with his nose in the books. Seeing how sociable he is, I gave him Popularity as his secondary aspiration, but he tends to roll nothing but Grilled Cheese wants anyway.
Tending his fruit trees helps keeping Arthur entertained as well. I never noticed before how much of a fun boost gardening is. Now my Sims need to make their own entertainment, and it's great to be creative in keeping them occupied.
One of Arthur's cheeses must've gone off, because he contracted food poisoning halfway through the week. I had him rest in bed a lot to get healthy again, but that toilet wasn't going to clean itself either.
Arthur managed to get both Myra and Davin in for a visit. Myra's always good for a game of Red Hands, while Davin admired Arthur's cheese-ideas pinboard.
Arthur happened across Nate on his evening jog as well. Kissy kissy ^^ Arthur actually swings both ways, with a slight tendency towards men. It narrows down his dating chances considerably, seeing as the other guys are all straight. I'm pretty sure Nate is prissy rather than meaning anything with the cheekbumps.
Arthur didn't really know what to think of this unexpected visitor, though. He likes animals just fine, but that doesn't look like any kitty he's ever seen before.
Bleagh! Right in the face! I hope you'll learn not to pet strange black-and-white striped kitties from that, Arthur.
I guess getting sprayed by a skunk really makes you appreciate the sweet smell of flowers :)
