oddity of the day

I've got a handful of queries in my inbox that talk about the author of the book in question in third person. What's the deal? Did the person writing the query not actually write the book? Do they think I'll be more likely to ask to see it if it sounds like someone else is tooting their horn? Whatever the case, their energies would be better spent ( Read more... )

They confused writing a query with writing a bio? (And I really, really hated having to write my bio in 3rd-- felt very pro athlete. *shudder*)

Ugh... I've gotten those too. What I think it is: a new service that sends out queries on behalf of an author - to EVERY agent. Very annoying. Like a pre-agent-agent (but one that doesn't do ANY research).
