The Weekend

Well, I made it through the week without that pizza. My weight held steady over the weekend, too, which can always be tough, especially being one of the first two weekends I've been trying to do well.

Got out Friday after the memorial for Melody's uncle Ron and took some more pics... will post below (these are also unedited except for I cropped the moon pic, and cropped and did some brightness/contrast on the fish, which was about the average size of what Melody was catching that day). The boys (Melody's three) came out and hung out with us for a while, too, so it was a pleasant evening.

Just binged the Sopranos on Saturday and then got our 2nd pfizer covid shots on Sunday. A few hours later, we started feeling a bit gross and pretty tired and ended up taking a few hour nap. Still not feeling GREAT, but it seems that we are in the percentage of people that overall got pretty lucky with how our bodies reacted. The more the day goes on, though, the more I feel worn down.

Weather looks nice for the end of the week (Thursday and beyond) so I think I'll try to get out of the house on those days and either do some nature trail walking / picture taking, or hit up the frisbee golf course on Clyde Fant. If I can't start consistently getting out like that and being more active, I'm going to have to make myself start using the elliptical and treadmill at the house. I'd prefer to get started outside, will feel less like work, and I don't love working out at the house for a few reasons...

One, it's too easy once you're home to be like "fuck it, I'm watching Sopranos on the couch" (although, tying a program into exercise would be a good motivator...), two, the room the equipment is in is also the room where the dogs go in and out of the house AND where they hang out, so it tends to stay dusty and a bit dirtier than I'd prefer for the room I'm doing a bunch of deep, heavy breathing, and third, being the area the dogs are in, they see some activity like that and they really get worked up and that sort of incessant distraction isn't good toward the mindset. Really boils down to excuses though, but anything that can make getting started easier, the better.

Started using a knock-off thigh master sort of thing to try to strengthen my adductor muscles (which is where I'm pretty sure my injury is). I'm hoping about a month of that along with a gradual use of the elliptical and eventually the treadmill will do enough to where I can work past/through that.

Picture Time!
