We previewed last night, and by all accounts it went pretty well. It was just off enough that we'll be paranoid and on point tonight, but still good enough to get applauded (and agagaga'd) quite enthusiastically by the end. There is still all sorts of kinks that need to be worked out (both onstage and off), but we should be rocksolid. Should being the operative word. ohgod. I should have eaten something before I drank all that coffee...

when i say you sucked my brain out, the english translation is:
i am in love with you. and it is no fun.

Did I talk about graduation yet? Not officially, no. Well, no time like the present: graduation was SHORT. In the history of Nova graduation, this is pretty much unheard of. Here is how it goes down: after the initial speeches and songs and all that, then every student is introduced individually. Their coordinator or a couple of teachers spent a minute or two talking about how amazing they are, then the student is allowed to talk for as long as they wish about how amazing their Nova experience has been. And somehow we got through the entire class of 2007 in Under Two Hours. We almost felt a little cheated. But, yeah, the whole thing went off without a hitch. I wore a dress. Hollie did my makeup. I felt like a high-end escourt. Because the whole affair we took place on the front steps/lawn, we were forced to wait in the dust coated basement to recieve instructions on how and when to enter. Note: do not ask 30 odd teenagers hyped up on adreneline and nostalgia, to pair off and form a set of parallel lines in under 5 minutes. It won't work. I ended up next to Jehovah's Witness Boy. He was oddly civil. (SPEAKING OF UNUSUAL CIVILITY: okay, so, because I was out of my mind with all the pre-graduation chemicals and energy, and she was standing behind me, I actually said something DECENT and WITTY to ALEXA FUCKING LORD. and then she REPLIED in a SIMALER FASHION. IT WAS SURREAL.) We walked out to Revolution by the Beatles, which felt fantastic. Jehovah's Witness Boy was on my left, Greg was on my right; they are both tall, broad, dressed in all black for the occation, and wearing mirrored sunglasses. I felt kind of like a mafia princess. My speech was good, I made Terrance laugh, he made me cry. Eyva wrote me a poem and gave me a bright orange Ikea toolkit. We walked out to Don't Know Much 'Bout History by Sam Cooke. That was oddly fitting. AND THEN IT WAS DONE and I got chai with Savvy. Teh Ned.
