The Short Second Life of Bree who?

Actually Sabrina first found out about this and told me that Stephenie Meyer will release a new book this year. Mrs. Meyer herself calls it a novella and it is told from the view point of Bree Tanner. Doesn't ring a bell? Too bad, because you're supposed to know her! Apparently she's one of the new born vampires that Victoria (Bella's nemesis, remember?) raises in Eclipse in order to attack/kill Bella and the rest.
What surprised me most is that Stephenie gives this book away for free. Guess she learned her lesson from the Midnight Sun disaster :P
But of course you can also buy the book to put on your shelf. The cover looks rather pretty and very Twilightish:

I began this story a long time ago-before Twilight was even released. Back then I was just editing Eclipse, and in the thick of my vampire world. I was thinking a lot about the newborns, imagining their side of the story, and one thing led to another. I started writing from Bree's perspective about those final days, and what it was like to be a newborn.
