What? Me...Ranting?!?

I was a bit stressed out, yet amused from a few parents and their kids at work today. Where do I even begin? Ok, let's start of with this laid back mom and her son. I'm sitting in my office, minding my own business, trying to get some paper work done. There were lots for me to calculate. How much fish food we sold, how many fish in our tanks have died within the month, and the list goes on. All of a sudden, I hear this LOUD banging. I knew what was causing it, one time. Somebody was knocking on the glass on one of the exhibits. So I stop what I'm doing, and walk over to the scene of the noisemaking. My eyes notice this little boy banging on a puffer fish and filter feeders tank, while his mother just stands there watching him, without even saying anything. So I stand there, without them seeing me and I wait for about 30 seconds for the mother to stop her kid.

To my surprise, she does absolutely nothing. Being the nice guy I am that rarely yells, I walk over there and calmly say "please stop banging on the glass, you stress out the animals. Ok?" Then the mother says "that's right Cameron, you know better." I must have had one of those "WTF" expressions. Why should I have to step in, for a mother to correct her child? I can understand if she wasn’t around, but she was pretty much watching her child do it, as if she wanted me to come over. I'm sorry, but that lady really stressed me out.

Another thing that bugs me is when kids(rarely adults) grip paper from the dispensers, and pull too much out. Once again, parents are there to stop them but don’t even bother. Sometimes they take so much; the actual length of the paper is equal to my height. I mean really, why do parents just stand there and watch their kids waste so much paper. And for what? Just so they can dry up their small hands? It's like everyday other day I have to put in a whole new roll, and it should last for about a week. Don't they ever watch those toilet paper bears on TV? Their slogan is "less is more," so it somewhat applies, I guess.

Well that's all I have to say today.

ranting, kids, wasting paper, work, stupid adults
