Rainy Days

Don't you hate it when you are having such a great day and then all of a sudden, you see something that totally ruins it? Allow me to explain. I had just knocked off from work, and I had lots of fun. It was 4:30 at the time, and my brother was going to pick me up at 5:00. So what does Miguel do whenever he knocks of early? He goes diving off the Flatts Village Bridge, of course. I quickly tossed off my work shirt, ran to the bridge, looked over, just to ensure the current was going the right way. Oh and to make sure no jellyfish were there, because I really wasn't in the mood to be stung.

As I was about to jump, my eyes widen as I noticed this HUGE figure, riding in the current. At first I thought it was a turtle, but that wasn't possible. Turtles don't swim around that area. Then I realized it was a giant eagle ray. The ray's wings were much wider then the average school desk. It had all of these black spots covering its smooth back. They say it brings good luck, then again, allot of random sights are suppose to bring you good luck, so much for that swim.

So I made my way to the Aquarium porch, to wait for my brother. The moment I sat down, I noticed this little girl, standing by the roadside...waiting for something. She was wearing this backpack that was twice her size. In fact, I was shocked that she was able to stand. Ten minutes later, it started to rain. But when I looked across the road, she was still standing there, not moving an inch. You'd think she would make a run for it, but it was as if somebody had cemented her feet to that one spot. The feeling of "pity" ran through me. Despite the fact it was a hot summer day, her actions just didn't make any sense. Maybe she was afraid the person she was waiting for would miss her if she had moved.

Still, for her to stay there was not a very pleasant sight...and I don't want to see anything like that again. My family car pulled up, with my brother behind the wheel. Without saying a word, I opened the door and just sat down. Seconds later, the car pulled out onto the main road. The moment the car drove past her, our eyes met. She had this emotionless look on her face. I don't think I'll ever forget. I have no idea how long she remained there...I just hope she it alright.

sadness, sad girl, swimming, work, eagle rays, fun, rain
