One Amusing Day

If one word could describe my day...it would be "amusing." Let's see, where do I start? Well first of all, I'm getting a little tired of hearing the same question form both tourists and those who live here. "Are the animals in your marine touch pool poisonous?" I mean would we really allow people to touch animals that would be harmful to your health? People don't ask the waiter "is there rat poison in this clam chowder?" So I don't see the need to ask such a safe question...at the WRONG time. However, it's better to ask how to handle the creature, regarding safety, but I digress. Other then that, work went pretty well. I did some deep sea diving this afternoon. Cameron (a partner of mine) and I had to collect some sponges for our Nudibranch to eat. I must admit it's kind of weird starting the undersea journey to a bright and sunny day, only to resurface to see such rough weather. There must have been a look of fear in our eyes as the thunder roared in the skies. I swear the thunder was so loud I felt vibration in my chest. No doubt Cameron felt it to. As I was climbing into our small boat, a wave came and knocked me in the hard way. It was a pretty funny moment. An hour later, we made our way back to the Bermuda Aquarium to deliver the sea sponges to my department. After that, I had to go take a shower.

I'll be honest, I hate using the shower at my job. Its ok and all, but it something about it I don't like. Normally I'd take a cold shower, but I don't see the logic in taking a cold shower after coming out of cold water, especially after being caught in heavy rain. So, I took a nice hot shower. After that, I was all dried up and ready to get out. Ironically, I left my bag with my towel in the office a few doors away. I had two choices, run nude across the doors, and grab my towel. Or signal my partner who was close by and tell him get it. I took option number two. So I got his attention by knocking on the bathroom door (which had a window on it) and told him to come over. As he was walking over, this gust of wind came and the door flew open! Lucky for me, I pulled a ninja and jumped back into the shower. Once again, I was almost exposed with no clothes on. About 20 minutes later, I was all dressed up and back to work.

My stomach was pretty much rumbling, no food for a few hours would do that to yah. Lucky for me my boss decided to take my partner and I out for lunch. The restaurant she took as at was pretty busy, hence why our food took so long to arrive. I didn’t mind waiting though, although my partner and Lisa (my boss) was complaining. About 15 minutes after we all ordered, Lisa asks the waiter for a side order of onion rings. The moment Lisa turned her head the waiter rolled his eyes, looked towards the ceiling and softly sighed. It was pretty funny, and part of me doesn’t blame him.

Well…that’s enough ranting for today.
