I'm Sorry...Who Are You?
One of the most annoying yet embarrassing things happened to me the other day when I was buying my college books. Ok so I walk into the store and pass this girl sitting in a chair next to some chips. As I pass her I smile and nod my head, and move on. About fifteen minutes later I find all three books I require and make my way to the cashier. When I get there I hear an unfamiliar voice from behind say "Hey Miguel." I turn around to face the girl that was sitting in the chair when I first entered the store. Before I could reply...she asks one of the hardest questions ever..."do you remember me?" Ok so at this point I'm doing everything in my power to prevent me to look like a total nut bar. Its hard to admit but I did end up saying "no, I'm sorry I don't." I had no clue what she felt inside for being forgotten, cause I know some people are touchy bout that. So before she could even recover from my response, I extended my hand and asked her name all over again. It worked like a charm, she said her name was Tina (still had no damn clue who this girl was) and we shook and laughed off the awkward reunion. I'm sorry but it bugs me when people effortlessly remember me but I fail miserably.
There is a little trick to play everything off, try it!
STEP 1 - Pretend to be trying to remember for bout 4 seconds, 6 if you feel lucky.
Step 2 - Smile and say "HEYYYY ITS YOU!!"
Step 3 - Ok you have em right were ya want em. They will hesitate to question your memory. This is when you ask "how do you pronounce your name again? The funny thing is...it works! Even if their name is as basic as "Ken" it'll get the job done.
Master this and it relieves the guilt. So why didn't I use the grand master move on this girl? Maybe cause I was so freaked out that she saw me once and didn't say anything, only to get me a few minutes later.
On another note...
I'VE GOTTEN BACK INTO FAN FICTION!! Ironically, I won't be writing Final Fantasy just yet. I'm going to focus on Kingdom Hearts and The Avatar - The Last Airbender. I already know what my first one is going to be, in fact I started. Here is were things gets kinda complicated. My ace girl was thrilled of the idea of me writing and she wants me to write her a Kingdom Hearts II story, just a mere chapter. I said cool, BUT...she wants me to do a RikuXSora one. I'm obviously not gay so I had a hard time deciding weather or not to write it. I told her if I did, it won't be filled with sexual details like I normally would let run wild if it was a male/female pairing. She explained the a "true" writer can allow their love of writing to step over such personal boundaries, despite my straight orientation. *sighs* I hope I don't regret this one, let alone share it. :S
