Ryo didn’t know how he ended up sitting on the floor side by side with him, and the other man who was sitting beside him was bawling his eyes out and sniffling.
He had gone to his apartment in Tokyo as usual that day, but the unusual thing was when he reached his place, there were three extra pairs of shoes at the entryway. And before he knew it, he was dragged by Pi towards the living room and was greeted by Jin and him…
“Ryo… why do you have to die?” he heard a whimper beside him and groaned.
Pi and Jin had already passed out from the alcohol that they had consumed and Kame was the only person from the ‘Three Stooges’ that was still up but dreadfully drunk.
“I didn’t die you dimwit…” he replied tetchily and he could still hear the sniffling beside him. Both of them had ended up watching the ‘24 hour television’ drama special, whereby the character that he played in the drama had died in the end.
Kame kept on crying and Ryo sighed in frustration. He had always heard from Jin that the younger man could be a cry baby some times, but he didn’t know that he would cry like a baby too.
“Poor Yama-chan…”
He turned to look at the other and couldn’t stop himself from grinning at the sight of Kame crying his eyes out. The top idol had swollen eyes, a red nose and his face was flushed red from the alcohol and all the weeping he did.
“You’re… strange…” Ryo said absently but still feeling amused, and that had made the younger man turn to him.
Ryo blinked and his heart started to pound in his chest. He had never admitted it but he had always been watching the younger man, and he didn’t know why but somehow right now he knew why he did. Kame was beautiful in his own strange way.
Truthfully, there were a lot of other guys in the company who looked more beautiful than Kame, but… the other had always caught his and others’ attention. It was as if he was casting a spell on everyone to look at him. Moreover, Kame was friendly with almost everyone in the company but…
“You never see me do you?”
Kame looked at him quizzically and Ryo knew that the other didn’t understand him, and he felt it would be better that way. Pouring his unrequited feelings towards the one, who didn’t even look at him would be very much embarrassing.
“I did…” Kame’s small scratchy voice filled his ears. “I always see you Ryo-chan…”
It was as if the moment had stilled between them and Ryo should not have said anything in return but he couldn’t help himself.
“You could never see anyone behind that large Bakanishi.”
Kame smiled innocently. “I always peek at you when I’m behind that large Bakanishi.”
The younger man tilted his head to his side and sighed adding, “You are the one that never sees me Ryo-chan…” another sigh, “I know that I’m not that special to look at but I always wished that you would notice me… you never did.”
What?
Kame continued, “I know that you’re not that special to look at too but I know that we could be perfect together.”
Ryo just stared at the giggling man in front of him. He was aware that it was the alcohol talking because he knew that Kame would sometimes be a flirt when he’s drunk, but he really wanted to believe it all.
“Why do you say so?”
“Hmmm?” the younger man stopped giggling and paid his attention to him. “Because…”
Kame frowned, rested his head against the sofa and looked like he was trying to find the perfect answer, but nothing came out from the other’s lips and Ryo just stared in disbelief when the younger man’s breathe evened.
As he gazed at Kame’s sleeping form, he remembered about this one story he had heard from a strange old man at the park. About fairies and magic spells. And he clearly remembered about this fairy named Puck casting a spell using a flower, whereby if he dropped something on people’s eyes while they were sleeping then the first person that they saw when they woke up would be the love of their life.
“Hey… Puck, if you really do exist, can you put a spell on him?” Ryo whispered softly and then scoffed at his own silliness because he knew that when Kame wakes up, the person that he would see would be Jin because it had always been Jin.
