"You're right," Shikamaru mumbled, his pace slowing a little now that they had some distance between them and the police station. He didn't have much choice but to lean a little of his weight against Hidan. "What the hell was I thinking? I don't even... I don't know what came over me. It was so retarded."

No, he really couldn't argue with Hidan there. He brought his palm to his forehead and sighed. "I'm so stupid," he muttered under his breath. "As if you even needed my help... I just get in the way. I should have just run. Why would I even do that?" It wasn't any use trying to fight for something when you were just weak and worthless. He would have to remember it next time.

"Bet you were fucking jealous and didn’t want some pedo to screw me." He replied playfully but his gaze seemed to be on more preoccupied things, because now things were getting screwy but it probably was only his own damn problem. "Totally understandable you faggot." And he tightened his arm around his brother’s neck.

He brought up a few fingers to his eyes and rubbed his eyelids, "Shit, did that bastard hit me or something?" Not like he could remember, for all he knew the tranny could have slapped him over the head with the handle of his fancy-dandy shitty gun, he was just too fucking riled up to take any notice. The exhilaration rush was pretty much still pumping in his veins like a wild overdose of some hardcore drug.

Shikamaru made a face but he didn't argue. He was too tired to fight anymore. This whole messed-up day had worn him out and he couldn't wait to just go home and take a nap and hope that when he woke up everything would be back to normal.

When Hidan started getting a little out of it, though, Shikamaru glanced up at him. "What's the matter?" he asked, his anxiety rising again. He stopped so that he could get a good look at his brother, his mind immediately going to the possibility that Hidan might be infected with whatever had made everyone stop moving. "Do you feel weird? Are you dizzy?"

"Shit. Shit, just wait a moment dipshit." He breathed heavily. But he was pretty glad that Shika stopped because right now the older was damn exhausted. He thought it was probably from the fighting but Hidan knew that he had way more stamina than that.

He leaned against his brother briefly as he stopped and pulled away to crouch down on the floor. This was weird as hell. A grunt escaped from his lips as he sat on the cement and he closed his eyes only to vision something he had no damn idea about and could seriously care less about it! After a few moments, Hidan looked back up at his brother with a stiff expression, "Oi, Shika. Are you seeing any weird shit? Tch. Man, I am so fucked."

Shikamaru really started to panic when Hidan lowered himself to the ground. He was so worried that he even glanced back in the direction of the police station, wondering if he should try running back to find Yaha. But what could that pedo do for them anyway? If Hidan was sick, Shikamaru would have to take care of him alone.

"I-I'm not seeing anything," he said, by which he meant nothing any stranger than he'd been seeing all day. He knelt down beside his brother, staring at him with wide eyes that were slowly but surely filling with tears. What would he do if he lost Hidan now?

"What is it?" he asked. "What are you seeing?"

Man, his head was killing him, why the shit did something like this have to happen when he was just being irritated by his younger brother? Okay, so that wasn’t true, if he was going down then he was going to take Shika with him.

His fingers reached up and he tried to pull himself up (or perhaps Shika down) with his free hand against his forehead, wiping away droplets of sweat. His whole body was stirring with some obscurity.

"No. fucking. Idea." He said slowly along with a sharp inhale, and then he stood up, looking aggravated at Shika before letting a deep chuckle escape his lips. Hidan wasn’t about to tell some heathen shit about some supernatural bullshit about a blood-made insignia with him in the middle. "Tch. None of your business." And he placed a hand on Shika’s head, "Heh. Looks like you’re going to piss yourself."

Just like that, Hidan seemed to be feeling better, and Shikamaru figured they may as well keep moving before it got worse again. He was about to stand up too but then...

His vision flickered like someone playing with a lightswitch and he sank back to the ground. One hand reached out blindly for Hidan while the other pressed to his forehead and he moaned like he'd just been hit in the face. For a split second he had a feeling that there was no one there with him at all, no older brother to turn to, but then there was something else. The faint smell of cigarette smoke, a soft clacking sound like chess pieces on a board, and he realized he wasn't alone at all, he was visiting...

Who was he visiting?

Someone turned on the lights again and Shikamaru came to realize he had doubled over with his face less than an inch from the sidewalk. And he was crying, crying like he'd lost everything, like he imagined he would cry if Hidan ever died.

It was nothing. That is what Hidan told himself. The sign on the ground that conveniently resembled the necklace around his neck? Absolutely fuck all, a bad case of a trip, buying the wrong batch of weed, whatever it was.

But still, there was Shika who was probably suffering the same back trip only to end up in tears. Hidan rushed over to his younger brother out of morbid curiosity hinted with the slightest bit of worry (if it could be called that) and crouched down to look at his pathetically miserable sobbing.

"Hey...what the shit?" Hidan said softly and placed a hand on Shika’s shoulder and spoke roughly. "Shika, you alright?"

Whatever just happened left him with such a heavy feeling of sadness. There was no way he could explain it, all these random little things that came together to make him fall apart. He still wanted to curl up and keep sobbing but now that he was aware of his surroundings again, now that he could hear Hidan's voice, he remembered that they had to get home.

"I..." He took a deep, shuddering breath and wiped the tears from his face with his sleeve. "Yeah, I don't... Damn, I just... I must be really tired, shit." He let out a weak laugh and started to pick himself up. Exhaustion, that made the most sense. And all of this happening to his parents, and everyone in the city, it was probably a wonder he hadn't had a nervous breakdown sooner. But he was going to be okay, he could push through it until he got home.

"Come on," he said once he regained his footing. "We have to get back before you get sick again. I can't carry you home."

Hidan hissed under his breath at Shika’s weird behavior. Okay, so the city was fucked with fleshy mannequins everywhere and he just had some sort of vision that was probably caused by getting hit over the head by the damn cop, but even though he raised a hand to touch the back of his head there was no blood or lumps. He sneered to himself and realized that it was probably nothing.

"Tch. Stop being a fucking pussy, it is seriously starting to piss me off!" Hidan growled deeply and dangerously. But it really was, he didn’t want to waste his time with his brother who was leaking eyeball juice everywhere like a five year old shithead who wetted the damn bed. He lifted down the hood of his sweater and placed his hands in his pocket before continuing to walk, seriously not starting to give a shit if Shika was going to follow. Nonetheless, with the black material shadowing his eyes, he was practically oblivious to his surroundings.

Shikamaru wasn't feeling too great about his own behavior. What the hell? He never cried in front of Hidan, not since he was like six. And what was he even crying about? He would have liked to curl up and die right about then to spare himself the embarrassment. He didn't even try apologizing for what happened, he'd probably just get punched in the face. Gritting his teeth, he kept on walking toward their house.

This was the first time since he noticed his parents were frozen that he had any time to look up at the sky. Cloud-gazing usually made him feel better so he raised his head, and that was when he noticed the sky hadn't changed. At all. Since he'd had a smoke earlier.

And that didn't surprise him as much as it should have, but what happened next did. Suddenly the sky was in fast-forward. Before he could even blink, the sun vanished below the horizon and he was left looking at the stars.

He stopped. And stared. And uttered under his breath, "Holy shit..."

Hidan didn’t even wanna go home!, but if he didn’t then Shika would just be moping and shitting himself and all the same crap that he had to deal with when the kid was nine. He just ignored the younger now as they went into the house, and let Shika do his shit-eating cloud-gazing as Hidan went up to their room and put the computer on full blast to play that godforsaken Finnish music that become a addiction ( ... )

Shikamaru was so busy staring that he didn't notice Hidan even left. What the hell could be making the sky do that? Not just the sky, he figured, but time itself was all messed up. Had he been right about something being wrong with the time-space continuum? That was like something out of a movie, not any kind of real explanation. Still, what else could explain this?

"--Ow!" he cried as Hidan kicked at his knee. He bent over to rub at it gingerly, shooting a glare up at his brother. "What the hell? Yeah, it's... Wait, did you just say something about mom and dad?" His gaze immediately snapped in the direction of the house. "Are they okay? Did they wake up?"

Fucking hell! Why was Shika so fucking stupid! It seriously pissed the older off and he just wanted to punch the weak shit to the ground for being such a pussy. The kid seriously needed to grow some damn balls!, and as for the surroundings and sky and whatever weird shit happening? Hidan just had to laugh darkly at it, fuck yes it would be the end of the world and if Hidan was lucky he would be the last one standing and be God’s advocate!

Hidan grabbed a fistful of Shika’s hair and jerked his head up. The older was still wearing his hoodie and wore a large murderous smirk before shoving his brother away. "Dude, they’re dead!" Okay, so they weren’t, but watching Shika’s reaction would be pretty awesome, "Seriously! Just goes to show what happens to you heathen fuckers!"

Shikamaru hissed with pain when Hidan took him by the hair, his eyes stinging with tears. He kicked uselessly but didn't need to anyway, Hidan released him and his ponytail came half undone which made him look like even more of a mess than he already was with his face all dirty and blood-smeared. He was not in the mood for these kind of games today, dark eyes glowering at Hidan with more hatred than he'd been able to muster up in a long time. Sometimes Hidan didn't seem like a brother at all, just some person he didn't know who wanted to torment him for no reason. Just because he could.

"Screw you," Shikamaru spat. His parents weren't dead, he wouldn't believe that kind of bullshit from Hidan's mouth. He turned away and ran for the house. He'd make sure they were alright on his own.

Was Hidan meant to feel kinda guilty? Well he kinda did. He snorted arrogantly and placed his hands on his head briefly, just looking at the spazzes that went around the city and murmured to himself. "Tch, whatever."

For a few moments he stayed still, letting his bottom lip jut out before following Shika back into the house with his arms limp by his sides. Once he saw the other teen Hidan rushed up to him and wrapped an arm around his brother’s waist. What the hell did Shika want from him.

"Oi, you know that even if your parents are dead, I’m like...not dead and shit, right?" Yeah, he was trying to comfort his younger brother, but he doubted it would work since he was nothing but a heartless cunt.
