Life came back to her slowly, with a feeling of familiarity alongside it. Everything had been dark, for so long, voices echoing in and out of her mind, what was left of it. She heard Alucard, her Master, his deep voice chuckling and mocking her, 'Dying so easily Police Girl?'.
Then as she began to rise up, memories flashed in her mind, faces of the ones who'd killed her, the feeling of the blades they used going into her chest and stomach and tearing through organs and weak flesh. Hidan... someone else she didn't know, they killed her, the pain and frenzied denial cut off with the sound of a sharp crack and then that darkness, overwhelming.
She hadn't wanted to die, she'd wanted to live, and they'd killed her. Like her parents, dying and bleeding, her mothers corpse desecrated and she'd screamed and - Alucard, smiling darkly at her, she didn't remember when - Belial tearing at the flesh of her chest - Larxene smirking cruelly as she taunted her into a fight - the knives sliding invasively into her body and pulling -
She awoke to the coldness of the street outside her apartment, everyday pedestrian sounds, the world of the living. For all but her.
Blue faded into red as she got to her feet, eyes glowing through the shadows, there was no concious thought in her motions as she stepped out into the dim light of Terra, head bowed and teeth gritted, sharpening as she walked. Everything faded away into a red haze, buildings like inconsequential shadows in the periphery of her vision, the only thing that stood out were the walking blood bags on the street.
The first man's head cracked like an egg under her hand, an explosion of blood and skull fragments, brain matter dropping to the ground as she sank her mouth of the spurting stump of his neck before tossing the body aside like a ragdoll. She dove for the next like an animal, snarling as she lifted him bodily by the throat, jaws clamped into his neck, the hot blood pouring down into her belly like liquid fire, setting her body alight. Seras smirked as she let it drop to the floor, bones cracking under her feet as she stepped across him.
Blood from the bodies soaked into her clothes, spreading impossibly far. The blue of the police uniform became completely red as did her boots and gloves. She snickered as her left arm turned darker, black, splitting into coiling tendrils of shadow that writhed around her body. Every illusion of humanity slowly peeling away to the sound of screams as inside, the monster broke out, hungry for blood and vengeance.
