For Harlock, time did stand still but not for the reasons of fear or tribulation of having to face such creatures. No, it was because he felt saddened that these monsters had to be killed in the first place. There was nothing that could be done to calm their anger. KOS-MOS was correct that they would be a danger to those that wish to live; those that still needed to live in this city. Time began yet again, as it always did, long enough for him to say. "These souls will rest finally."

The rapier at his side was not simply for show. It was actually a high-powered firearm; the only downside was that the reload time for each bullet seemed as though it would be too long to do more than fire one or two shots before he had to use said rapier as its disguise designated it to be -- a sword. All this went through his head as he rose the rapier into the air, leveling it off at the chest of one of the experiments rushing towards them. The shot fired as soon as he found the right spot to fire -- up high, to the shoulder, meant to knock the front-runner back so that it would be easier to take the rest down.

KOS-MOS didn't acknowledge the assistance in battle, but she did notice. Some small part of her was expressing something similar to thanks, but she ignored it and continued her advancement.

A spray of nanomachines and light encompassed her right arm as she held it in front of her face. She didn't slow down at all as the transformation only took seconds. Her arm was now a high-powered energy blade that instantly cut through the lead "human anomaly" felled by Harlock, destroying him instantly. She leapt over the others, somersaulting in mid-air, and grabbed another by the head crushing the skull and impaling it with the R-Blade.

By this time, the others had gotten up and were once again running towards Siarnaq and Harlock.

Just as expected, he was only able to fire two more shots -- both aimed at the shoulders like before to knock the anomalies back; however, one of which that he had shot only staggered a few steps backward before continuing -- before he was forced to use his rapier as it was meant to be used. However, it was not as effective in such a close combat fight; there were two others to be concerned about and if he swung out too far with his arm, he might end up cutting them by mistake.

As such, he had to resort to quick jabs forward and back, small cuts; more annoying than anything else; despite a few jabs cutting into various internal organs when they did connect. It seemed they were a lot more durable than that. A brief glance to Siarnaq as it seemed that the man had looked back at him; this brought surprise and a kind nod of the head as soon as he was able to do so. Enough room was finally given by the two rushing forward -- enough for him to fall on his knees, swinging the blade out to cut the legs of the creatures off at the ankles. The few around him fell forwards shortly afterward, threatening to fall on top of him.

One that came close to covering him, leaving him open for those that were behind, did not finish his fall. Was dead before he could properly connect with Harlock's body and knock him off balance. The blade thrust through the anomaly's back and propped him up, raining blood down on the old pirate. It was a few seconds -- too slow, too fast? -- before the body was heaved forward, thrown at the rest. Almost as though he was saying that they could have their comrade back now that he had been properly used to protect Harlock from harm.

As KOS-MOS tore through the last body in front of her, her sensors picked up more of them running through the corridors, most probably attracted by the sound of the melee. Between watching for incoming enemies and keeping track of both Harlock and Siarnaq, the android didn't notice the mutated hand/blade slicing through her prosthetic arm and exposing the circuits and metal beneath. It would require a minor repair once they had left this place but she beheaded the monster that had damaged her regardless.

"It appears that more of them are on their way to this location. I suggest we move on to avoid being cornered, thereby increasing our battle efficiency thirty-four percent."

There was approximately one minute and fourty-two seconds before the 'reinforcements' caught up with them and KOS-MOS believed she could acquire the object before the fight continued.
