Think I should offer up my thoughts on Dr Who, the end of time. In short I liked it, was hugely enjoyable. was it extremely over the top? Oh yes very much so. Then again that's when Dr Who tends to shine, when the whole thing gets throws caution, restraint and sanity to the winds and it becomes a story of mad, beautiful ideas. It works, it always works like this. This is when it all goes well and creates a wonderfully compelling show.
I think it was a suitable send off for the Tenth Doctor and I'm looking forward to seeing how the next incarnation turns out. Initial impressions seem positive. We'll have to wait and see.
So after 4 and a bit series how does new Who hold up to classic Who? Very well it's done a lot of things right and dragged Dr Who into the 21'st Century as although the classic series is often good fun it has quite a few issues that make it seem dated most prominently the pacing and dodgy effects and "stuffiness" of it. So yes a hats off to the new Who and long may it continue.
