Esperemos Que No

Right now, I wish to send an ardent prayer for the health of the great Cuban leader Fidel Castro, who some believe is in the proximity of death. I hope that he is not.

Yes, I posted knowing very well that now no one will read my other, earlier post, since most people don't read and comment on anyone's old journal entries. Seems very few people do that. Still, it is important to post this. Fidel, some say, is very ill. Others would say Fidel is going to be Ok, but no one knows when death comes knocking.

Still, it is a sight for shame when we see people actually rejoicing at the idea of the death of anyone. Who cares who it is? Shame on those Miami people who are actually waiting for him to die. Regardless of whether you believe in Communism or not, one must admit Fidel is a great man. Great orator, and awfully strong as a politician and at tactics. No, sadly, his original idea of a wonderful Cuba isn't real, yet, but at least he tried. If Cuba was a horrible place, then they wouldn't have all those amazing athletes who kicked the heck out of ours in these past games, or the amazing medical programs it does. Cuba wouldn't be the country it is today, if Fidel hadn't come around.

I hope Fidel is Ok, and that he does pull out of this one and continues to give Cuba years of long speeches, and leadership. It is not easy to stand up against a powerful nation, or against popular ideas. I have hopes that one day the US and Cuba will be complete friends, and I hope Fidel is there to see it. If he is not, and it is true that he will die before the Summer is done with -- then we will be witnessing one of the true, great leaders as he leaves us. Esperemos que no.

Hasta la Victoria, Siempre.
