Irin's birthday was today.
We did a questionable but epic thing. i.e. Jumping into the school, part dos. (part one was 2 years ago, as detailed
here)
I can't use words alone to describe it, so I'm going to be using pictures to help me. Hopefully some of this'll... make sense. somewhat.
OKAY I'M NOT QUITE SURE WHERE TO START. The idea came up on the 14th, at night. We were going to do something special since it was Irin's birthday and I was going to be leaving for Berkeley soon.
We somehow decided to jump into the school pool for a second time. Maybe make it an annual thing, to symbolize ~*~cleansing the old year off~*~ and getting ready for a new one.
Around 10PM, there was some hesitance. But we decided to go, break in, and figure out whether or not to jump in then and there.
(oh and skinny girl with glasses is Irin, shorter one is meee)
There were some potential witnesses. Hopefully, they didn't notice us.
This was how we got in back in '08. The pool is surrounded by high fences covered in a weird fabric (to prevent climbing, I guess), but there's a single gate that kind of allows for a possibility of entrance.
Irin, who is more acrobatic and taller than I am, opened the gate in the following manner:
(A lot harder than it looks, as I've come to realize this later)
Unfortunately, this year, there was a modification we did not notice until after Irin jumped over to the other side.
A lock to prevent the door from opening.
Yes.
Obviously, we were a bit distraught. Irin was on the other side, and there didn't seem to be a way of getting out. There are 4 doors/gates in surrounding the pool, and all of them had the lock on it.
We found one location, that kind of seemed hopeful. There were these large steps on the pool side, and a relatively short fence and high cement thing separating it from the outside.
IDK It made sense to me. And Irin ended up trying it, and getting out successfully.
The numbers indicate the locations of where Irin was. It actually turned out being easy-ish. I didn't need to hold her feet like that though lmao it just ended up in us getting into an awkward position.
Well since we were there already, and we figured out a way to get in and out...
Irin agreed, as long as I went over the gate first. A feat I couldn't do 2 years ago hahahaha. But uh. I decided to try. I felt like I'd regret it otherwise.
I had one leg over, and then... uh. got stuck. I was torn between wanting to go back to the other side, and actually going over.
After what was probably like 2 hours (or less), I finally gathered enough... courage?! idk what that was. Well I gathered something, and decided to go over to the other side.
But then I was actually stuck ahahaha MY PANTS GOT STUCK ON THE FENCE. But with combined efforts of me and Irin (mostly Irin), I was eventually unstuck and made it over to the other side.
We talked for a bit before jumping over.
me: So what do you want to do before you die?
Irin: not this. This is like the last thing I'd want to do. That and sitting on someone's head. So that's two things that's done.
then we did some legit jumping into the pool. Hands held, elbows crossed, and everything.
Then we got out. It was a lot easier than getting in.
We were wet. And it was kind of cold. And we had to come up with an excuse to explain to our parents why we were drenched.
If I had to give all this a grade, I'd give it an A+. with a sparkly star sticker.
Since I'm on the topic of epic things:
