Oooo, Christmas hangover was a bitch. I got on the bus out of town at about 12:30 (am), and then got into Edmonton at 12:30 (am) the next night. THEN was stopped there before getting on my next bus (the one with my luggage on it) and told that I would not be getting on it, as the bus was already full, but there would be another bus going soon (one with out my luggage on it). I left later than my luggage, but arrived before my luggage, as my luggage made several stops on the way it seems. I finally get to Red Deer at about 03:00 tired, sore and a wee bit giddy (TheKid and I were dancing and singing out little hearts out to green day and white stripes songs to keep awake). We finally got the luggage, then hopped into a cab, and when we got to the hotel that was reserved on the phone and to be paid for by mom in the morning, there were issues. They had asked me for a visa to confirm the room on the phone, and then told me that I would not need to do it again when I got there. So I didn't bring the visa. I did need it to get into the room. MUTHER FLETCHERS!! So after some bad noise, and me ranting at the lady about how I'd spent 26 straight hours on a muther flubbing bus and that if she did not let me into my room that her employee told me that I would have no issue getting into, that I would be spending my night in her lobby and she can bloody well call the cops if she wanted to...she let me in with a $50.00 deposit on the room. I think partially to get rid of me, partially because the poor kid was asleep on her feet, but mainly because spending 26 straight hours on a bus with other smelly people makes one "not so fresh" as they say. I then took the longest shower in human history. It was a slice of heaven accented with a nylon curtain <3.
When mom came to pay for the room, I guess she got the scoop from the workers about me. When asked I just said "I don't want to talk about it...and yus I did threaten to make her smell my arm pits -_-" Mom and my step-dad, TheKid and I all went to lunch, then off to a mall whose name escapes me at the moment, and mom spent about $800.00 on me in clothes. See what I mean when I say she is crazy <3. She also spent quite a chunk on TheKid. Then we were off to see the person who I was really there to see. GRANDMA!! <3!! I love my Grandma. As a kid, when asked what I wanted to be when I grow up, I would always answer "an artist like my Grandma" and really, things have not changed much. You name a craft or art or sewing...er...thingy, and she has at least dabbled in it, if not taught it. She is a silver smith, she does stained glass, she carves, she does pottery of all kinds, she makes glass beads, porcelain dolls, paints, sews, scrap booking...the list goes on. While I was down there, in about a day she had made me 4 skirts and a new purse, and still had time to ensue we were all fed and teach us new crafts. I can easily say that I have the best grandparents ever....really....ever.
While there I learnt how to do paper quilling, iris folding and er...how to make thread patterns on paper. I am proud to admit that I picked them up faster than mom did :P. I took a shining to paper quilling, and got $130 worth of stuff for it. I plan on making many gifts out of the stuff I got. Grandma said that if I need anything from the store down there, that I could let her know what I need and send her money to get it for me, as there is no one in town here that supplies any good stalk of it :/
Aside from the regular family craziness of holiday times, the majority of the time was spent doing crafts. TheKid didn't spend much time around the house, as she was off visiting with cousins that she had not seen in years. She had a blast, and was awesome the entire time. I am so glad that she is as well behaved as she was, so I didn't have to worry about her causing problems for my aunts and uncles.
On the way up, we didn't have any bags, as mom and the step-dad took our bags and other stuff with them for us in their van, so it was a little less stressful on the way back. TheKid befriended a small boy on the way back. She kept him entertained, and kept his dad wound around her little finger >_<. Damn that kid's good. He was a nice fellow, and got the kids some food at one of the stops, drinks at another and we shared the snacks we had with us with them.
All in all I'd say I had a great vacation. Next time I go to see Grandma, I think I want to go when it's not a family gathering time. Grandma said she was making me more skirts and shipping them when they are done O_o. I <3 her. I got home to TheHubby who was happy to see us, but who had also lost his wallet that his mom gave him as a gift. It was kangaroo leather and was from Steve Irwin’s store in Australia. Luckily he had lost it in a cab, and we know one of the dispatchers there, so they recognised his picture and called us about it.
On the way out of town on the bus, my work called me twice. I hadn't even left the territory and they called me :P. I have been informed that I am never allowed to leave again.
Well, I think that's enough for one night. Imma go to sleep now. The next post will be about my theory on human evolution, what effect our new sterile surrounds will have on this natural process, and the surreal occurrence that led me to this conversation with the littledykelette. Good times...good times.

P.S. Please forgive me if there are any grammatical errors, it is late and I had a long day.
