So normally I don't read kidfic. it's just not my thing, but I made an exception here, and boy am I glad I did, each chapter just gets better and better, chpt. 3 (the latest ) blew me away. The mood of the piece was just glorious. The themes of family and love are woven so cleverly and carefully throughout the enitire fic, it just makes you grin as you read. The painful bits are touching and desperate. OH DEAN, OH GABE, OH BOYS! Make up already!
Extract:There it is, a bit of pride welling up in Dean now because that is just freaking awesome and that's his girl... Shit. The change must show on his face because Cas is looking at him with all the hope in the world and it's far too much. Dean quickly looks at the ground and feels the air settle like stone around then again.
The characterisation is wonderful, but really the prose just stands out, so evocative.

I love the Pagan feel to it, interesting because that Christian/Pagan dichotomy doesn't seem to have been explored in the show, they seem to have just steam-rolled on with Christian theology trumping all else. One commenter said it has an American Gods feel, yes that is there, the human as the conduit for the older power.

Perfect characterisation, and for such a range of characters with the moving POV that's a real achievement. Really strong emotionally, conveys this great wealth of feeling very clearly, and you really get the feeling that the author has a lot of love for all the characters, flaws and all. I like the way the action plot isn't center stage but almost read between the lines, as the foucs is on these character studies.

Perfect mood, really fantastic,; hysterical joy, after the grief and action of the events of the film. Beautifully done, and Gaila is perfect, lovely snippets of Orion culture.

I found the names a little confusing at first, but before giving up I scrolled a little down and saw we got true names in the next paragraph or so, so stick with it, it's totally worth it.Quite cylon-centric which is nice. The writing is so tense and emotional and fraught, but really fantastic. Honestly, if you read one fic of all my recs, read this.

An old classic, I love this style vid, there's so many of these out there, but few of them seem to get it, it's not about the TWU WUV between x and y or the sparkliness of z, IT'S ABOUT THE LOLZ!
So this is hilarious, Peter and Mama Petrelli are my faves, though I like the Jessica/Nikki also.
So charmax is one of those awesome vid makers whose vids you should download on principle, and I'm not going to work back over all vids made, just go straight to the sticky here
But I will rec this one: marvellous party because I do this thing where I watch a vid and reinterpret it to fit a particular fandom, and this works nicely in Harry Potter as the purebloods before the war...we have David Tennant as Barty Crouch, I see Matthew Goode and Ben Whishaw as the Lestrange brothers, Nina Sosanya from Casanova as Mrs Zabini, and the rest are anyone really, but it's all decadence and excess and I thought it worked well in a purblood HP kinda way.
Of course even if re-interpretation isn't your thing, the vid itself is lovely, great choice of music, the words to the pictures, lovely bright colours, lots of spinning and dancing and swirls...marvellous!
