someone didn't cue that boid

Tatsunoko vs Capcom has no surprise characters. The whole cast was announced before the release and there was nobody left to find. It's always disappointing when that happens. Nine or eleven characters per side (18 arcade, 4 home-exclusive) seemed a bit lean at first but that's just because I'm too used to thinking of MvC2 as the only versus game. 18 or 22 characters is better than most of the earlier versus games and a good number for a completely new engine.

No Samurai Pizza Cats after all, but that series always seemed more popular in the West and TvC is unlikely to leave Japan because the Tatsunoko properties have Super Robot Wars Syndrome (Western rights to the individual series being unsold or spread among many different companies instead of held by one or two). I can distantly hope it might get added in a sequel, where Capcom might even come to their senses and drop Alex as the SF3 representative and replace him with Hugo or Dudley or the twins or just anyone from that game who isn't a complete failure.

Now watch the intro, because it deserves to be seen

Song is Across the Border by Asami Abe.  Fun fact: whenever I see crossovers Brave New World starts playing in my head because it is the official 'theme of crossovers' to me.  Across the Border might play that role as well in the future.
