This is the lady currently sitting
on the fourth plinth in London.
This is my question: why are so many people being lifted up to the plinth without any concrete idea of what to do there? The scope of this project is general, but exact: this is to expose England, today, to England, today. And okay, England, today, being represented by a man in a cow suit, a protester in a fish suit, or a performance artist in catseye glasses tossing glitter and lint at the crowd may be far-fetched; but three people so far, in the two days this project has been operational, have spent their hour talking on their cellphones.
This is England, today? Completely disconnected. Standing in public, and knowing they're standing in public, and still talking on their cellphones?
Wau, we are a world culture withdrawing from each other. This is not the best sign.
