so we were talking bad comics adaptations...

And I had to bring up The Incredible Hulk Returns. Which for some reason brought up Vincent D'Onofrio as Thor.

And then we were off on D'Onofrio, and Law & Order: CI, and so I had to bring up The Cell. And what happened after on Law & Order: CI. Fun stuph.

This has to be the oddest Christmas song ever.

And okay, creepy creepy creepy thing--I was watching this Silent Hill 4 fanvid, And suddenly, out of the blue, I caught this image:

And I had this moment of shudder, because that machine? Seen in the video? Is also seen in Event Horizon.

WHAT THE HELL, EVIL GAME PROGRAMMERS?!? Gah, way to give me nightmares, yeesh.

...well, save I don't so much have nightmares anymore. Which for all of me? Is a VERY welcome thing.

Oh noes! Canada r attacking us!

Y'know, some days, I hope they do? Like, in some fairly non-fatal way that won't result in Canadians going all evil, and us losing? I mean, I'm all for being American, and being proud of my country...I just want to do it when I can actually be proud of my country, damn it.

And don't know why I was thinking of it, but I suddenly wondered if the Nut Tree was still open. Apparently it is, and still just outside of Vacaville, California.

We used to stop there a lot, growing up, on our way to or from wherever. They had these things called treasure balls. They were really just tons of crepe paper wrapped around small toys, but they were a ton of fun to unwrap.

I went looking for a treasure ball 'how-to' link, not that I couldn't just describe it to you, but I found this instead, and I think this is better:

Magic Yarn Balls

At some point? When I know how to knit or crochet again? (And obviously have some source of income...) I'd like to set up one of these swaps, I think. It'd be fun.

This is another active swap they've got going--"morbid Victoriana", hee!

And let me toss you some recipes, before I fall down and pass out:

Nut Tree's Grilled Cheese/Tomato/Bacon Sandwich (recipe says it closed in 1996, web site says open--who's right?
Mongolian Fried Peanuts
Fried Tortellini with Spinach/Artichoke Dip
and a whole bunch of vegetarian main dishes. Yay!
