this is an insane conversation

I don't understand what's wrong with dandelions. I'm seeing commercial after commercial in my area about the hazards of dandelions, and I just don't get it. Dandelions:

* aerate lawns naturally
* help attract pollen-spreading insects to their vicinity, ensuring your plants are pollinated
* make a great wine
* bear new green leaves which can be picked and steamed with a little lemon or butter for a refreshing side dish
* contain AMAZINGLY high doses of potassium, calcium and iron plus a wealth of natural vitamins
* are fun to blow on the mature heads of, spreading the dandelion seeds farther
* can be used as a natural cosmetic (as long as you're into yellow eyelids or cheeks, that is)

I mean, really--with all that, why would anyone want to kill dandelions off?!?

Based on hank_riker's link of the Numa Numa Dance (which apparently has a rich internet history...I asked him to send me the original song. Whee! It's now just behind "Rasputin" by Boney M and "Moskau" by Dschingis Khan, with a little mix that starts off with "DARE" by Gorillaz. :)

At some point--now that we have a CD burner--I should make up a netdance songmix for use at Free Geek.

Speaking of Free Geek...I now have a set list of aches and pains associated with volunteering at FG. I refuse to give up, or give in. I'm losing weight--slowly; I'm making money--dimes at a time; and I'm helping them out. Unless I cut my leg off in the line of duty, I think I'm just going to have to grit my teeth and bear with it.

On the down side of that, though...I'm sick. And I was sick yesterday. And I had "official" shifts both days, and I'm due back in Thursday, Friday and Saturday. This may or may not stay as my schedule...I'm thinking Friday and Saturday of this week, I'll call in. Because right now, I can't swallow, and depending on how it goes, I could be running a fever tomorrow. I could be running a fever now--it's hard to tell between "too damn cold in this house and I'm not sick" and "too damn cold in this house and I'm sick". Without the furnace, you know. Which still isn't connected, ARGH...

I'm bringing in Bob-made (which means sweetie-made) broccoli-cheese soup tomorrow, and taking a break to eat it, and if I still feel lousy...I'm calling in.

No pics today, too tired, too sick. Don't think there are any fashion shows right now, anyway...

music, free geek, exhaustion
