Yep. It's another big grab-bag of info and links. And then I need to get started on laundry! :)
There's a fellow LJer, amusingly named
buggery, who finally
tracked down the Sean Penn story. Interesting read, plus the play-by-play.
And there's a list of folks at the end of
this post who are still donating-for-comments. So go comment. :)
And then there's the
Fat Girl Frock Swap 4. Just got this hot off the virtual presses:

FatGirl Frock Swap 4!
Sunday, Sept. 25th: Noon to 5pm
@ NECC - 1630 NE 38th
Benefit for Hurricane Katrina
Quick view:
http://www.fatgirlspeaks.com/frockswap/ Hey y'all! Time for another flabulous Frock Swap experience! It's short-notice, we know, but given the shortage of plus-sized clothing donations for New Orleans refugees, we wanted to throw something!
CdBaby.Com has graciously offered us free shipping to send the clothing where it's needed. So now, all we need is you!
Have some fun, get some new clothes, help FatGirl Speaks and Hurricane Katrina victims all in one fell swoop!
WHERE: N.E. Community Center (1630 NE 38th - right across from the bright orange Pagoda Restaurant)
WHEN: Sunday, September 25th, noon to 5pm.
WHAT: Clothing from 1x to 6x. For every 3 items of clothing you bring (we will inspect, so please, no stains, holes, tears, rips, missing buttons, etc...) you will get a coupon for 1 free item of clothing!
Do not bring: hangers, bags/purses, accessories or bras.
Please DO: sort your clothing into bags according to size and mark the size on the bag. This will help us get the clothing out faster.
YES: we need volunteers. 3 free clothing tickets for all volunteers who work a 4 hour shift. Email me at
stacy@fatpdx.org to volunteer! We need folks from 11am to 6pm.
CHUBLOVE!
F.A.T. PDX
(Fat Action Troupe Portland!)
P.S. Please forward this to all your friends. The more folks that come, the more clothes to choose from!

There you go, O Ye Local Sorts. Come one, come all, come with clothes to donate, pick up other clothes that might fit. Have a fun day of it with other fat chicks. Feel free to forward, just make sure the original contact info for Stacy and the URL for the Swap are in the mention. Cheers!
This, btw, was that interesting little unreadable Buffy site that I mentioned. That I forgot to link up with before. (That's linked up with now, that I remembered I hadn't done it, but is also dropped in here, where it could actually be relevant. In the vast scheme of meaningless things, I mean.)
Um.
Also remember I'm still taking donations-for-comments
here.
The antidote. Yep. Good to have around.
And...More fashions.

And sometimes, stripes don't go with stripes. Otherwise under the heading of, RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY! NO, KEEP RUNNING!

Do I have something on my head? What is it? C'mon, you can tell me.
Is it...poisonous?
Or just tacky?
It's really not that mockable, this outfit, save for the expression on her face and the tilt of her head. That inspired everything else. :)

Here we've got the stripes-not-going-with-stripes action surmounted by a big daisy-print tie-tunic in a really off set of colors. They're not really off for the tunic, they're really off to be paired with that mis-striped skirt.
Honestly. What were they thinking?
...And wait--looking back in my picture files, I've already mentioned this. WTF?? This outfit was bad enough to show off TWICE??
...Well, yes, but that's not the point. Why was it up on Seattle's fashion page twice??

And here's another take on the women-wrapped-in-plastic motif. Y'know, I remember back in 1979, when plastic clothes were all the rage...I remember folks being arrested for wearing see-through plastic clothing. (See, there was this law in Santa Cruz that said, if clothing is transparent, underwear must be worn--I'm not kidding, it was on the books. So the folks behind the plastic clothing craze started making transparent plastic underwear.
(You can imagine the chaos that ensued.)

Look, it's Tammy Wynette hair! And what the hell is going on around her left eye? Is that makeup? It looks like a fading bruise.

Yep...it's makeup. And it still looks like fading bruises. And what the hell is up with the half-a-trenchcoat idea? Most folks, you know, would wear the whole coat...why wear only half the coat? As a quasi-skirt, even?
WTF?

(Well. That was a fun fifteen minutes, tracking down a coding mistake. I'm going to go away now and finish the laundry that Cat started, since I've been SITTING HER FOR FOUR HOURS ANSWERING EMAIL...gaaah.)
