I can't even believe October is already halfway done. I'm shocked.
It also means that there is a lot of work to do...prior to November...because once its November, the quarter's practically over.
Okay: So some life updates?
Classes are going pretty well...obviously, thanks to the upper classmen, ALL incoming juniors were aware of what the workload would be this year. So far its been tolerable; and actually, it seems to hit in waves. Like, two weeks ago was a blast, I watched tv most nights for a few hours and really was able to relax. Last week was not so relaxed, the work load was heavier. This week, I don't know really where the light is at the end of this tunnel, but I'm thinking it'll show up somewhere around Thursday/Friday?
But me, being a dork...it's not so bad. I'd really rather be busy than idle. I cannot be idle. I'd find something else to do.
My School Observation:
Meagan and I are placed in Duxberry Park Elem. IT's an arts impact school-one of the few in Columbus Public...so it's an arts experience, a multi-cultural experience and realllly fun placement. We're in a music/movement class- aka, dance class. But, its a great take on things, totally making us "step outside the box" with all lessons. The best part? Our latest lesson, our advisor observed and now she wants the lesson plan to take to some conference that she's taking part in! I was so excited, she writes under comments: "You're hired. Great job!" (among other things of course) But...it kinda makes me excited for 2 years from now...when hopefully I'll be teaching for real somewhere!
Other:
The ladies of 4d and I are finding time to have a great time. Last weekend was weird; they all went home, except for me. It wasn't too bad, I was able to see the wonderful Liz/Laura, and hang out with them, went and saw "Company"_the show, it was hilarious...
And then Saturday I gave a tour and sat in on a student panel, from 12-5, talking up the "Quiet Peaceful Village." I really enjoy doing stuff like that? Like in some small way, psuedo recruiting people? I get a kick out of it.
Saturday was also Tracy's 21st birthday celebration...which was great to see her again! It makes me sad I never see her on campus. Well, I never see anyone on campus, minus the music majors...
Song obsessions of the moment:
Dierks Bentley
Tim McGraw- by Taylor Swift
Gary Allan- anything at this point
and a comedy cd made for me from Mike. Its got Jim Gaffagan? (Sp??)
and I find it HILARIOUS. "Hot pocket"
find some sunshine in your day today folks, and make it a great one.
