Life at the OC...

The unexpected.
I'm not really a fan of the unexpected, it tends to throw me off big time, and have to reconsider/second-guess myself.  NOT cool.

Week one of school:  ALL unexpected.  I was second guessing things like, if I should even be playing saxophone-due to placement of chairs in the top group and big band.  It was unexpected that friends in the studio would stand up for me, and other friends would try to drive me to the edge of sanity.
But , it happens, right?
Another unexpected aspect was the 44 page syllabus I have for one of my classes.  WHAAAAT??  but...

Week  two of school:  Not so unexpected.  I talked with my new saxophone teacher; he reassures me that he's confident my playing is up to par.  He's also really complimentary of my playing/ really excited to help me get ready for my recital. (PS FEB 3, Janelle's recital....hint)
He's also hilarious; almost everything that he says is funny.
So that's helped me handle the, " I don't even think I should be a sax player mindset"  and resolving to have a pretty sweet recital.=) Yay
and my 44 page syllabus class?  THe point is that that guy really just doesn't understand how to get out whatever it is he's trying to say/describe.  So it came out in 44 pages.  It looks to be fairly easy, and those people htat droppped it, well, they probably couldve stuck with it and been just fine.

This last weekend was one of those marching-band-raining-cats-and-dogs moments; and I was sad my parents came up to see me march, when we stood on the track to play.  THe football team didn't want for us to wreck up the field anymore.  RIGHT; because the MARCHING BAND and all the tackles=throwing of bodies=physical impacts we have was actually going to be the factor that tore up the field.
I'm actually NOT caring about this though, as it meant no one had to worry about falling on the field...

Which reminds me of the Grove City competition my sophomore year?  When everyone lost shoes in the field becuase it was so muddy.
Greaaat memories.

Such is life.  Things are going well.  Really, I mean that.  Busy, but that's a really good thing I think.
Until the next time...
