I think the world can be changed. And I think that it is people like you, people who have a reason to want it to change, that have the best chance of doing it.

What is it you really want? There are a lot of things people think they want, but deep inside they really don't.

It is the things you truly desire, that which lies deep in your heart, that you will have. Nothing else is within your power to acquire.

That is nice to hear, but the harsh reality of the world is that no matter what I think, want, or desire, it simply will not happen. One person cannot change the world, and those that have tried have all failed. Even those who gained a partial victory, the things that have been built become a corrupted shadow of the thing envisioned. Like our dear United States of America, this is no country of freedom, but a country of voluntary slavery. Where people are born into a poor class and are essentially stuck there so they can work as meaningless pawns to fuel a economy so those born into a higher position can live their dreams ( ... )

We both see that the world is a horrible place. The difference, I think, is that I maintain hope for a better world.

You see hope? I thought you hid in a world of false fantasy, trying to not be brought into the world. I recall you saying before, that you don't see why society is a big thing, and that all money is to you is a way for you to buy martial arts lessons.

I might be slightly out of line by saying this, but perhaps you have not gone out far enough into the world to have your hopes crushed.

Or, perhaps, my hopes are just too strong for the world to damage.

Or maybe I'm just crazy. You should always keep that in mind as an option.

I am curious, and have been for a while. What would you do if things in your current living situation failed? What would you do if you had to become truely independant? Would your outlook on the world change?

I don't know. I don't really have a contingency plan for that. It seems easier to make sure that I don't find myself in that situation.

Why do you think I hide in fiction all the time?
This is the reason.

Right, people live in their escapes from reality. That is why I play so many video games, because in a game I am not some lame person who is but a tool of the world. I can be a person who has the power to change things for the better. This reminds me of a old entry I posted on similar topics of this subject, take a look.

I remember this post.
Yes fiction is the best place to hide from the world but sometimes I fail my check and have to look around.
And for those times I leave everything up to chaos and it seems to get me through it. Luck's on my side i guess. Otherwise I probably couldn't handle it.
Antway the fact that you are posting at least makes this one life a bit more happy. It means that you are still alive and havn't jumped off that particular cliff yet.
