In the last week, I started downloading the show "Batman Beyond", which is a futuristic continuation of the Batman Story Line. I caught an episode of it when I was fresh to TV, but that was during my phase when I was phasing out of TV (do note I am still really not into TV, but I use Bit Torrent to get me the stuff on TV I actually want to watch. Even now, I mainly use Bit Torrent to get old Cartoons from my childhood that I loved and still do.). Anyhow, that one episode I watched, I recall not liking the show that much. I thought it was odd for things to be in the future like this, and thought it was somewhat all hype with "FUTURE BATMAN ZOMG!!!!".

Perhaps it was the disappointment of "The Batman", which originally I thought was okay but made me cry when I found out one of the reasons they have cancelled Justice League is because they didn't want JL to conflict with this crappy show T-T turned out to be not as good as I had thought it might be. Now that I have finished watching everything Batman Related that I could find in DC Cartoon version, I decided to give Batman Beyond another chance.

As it turns out, the show is pretty awesome. At first it was a little disorienting, but now that I have cleared the first season, they have me hooked. Sadly I know that the series only has 3 seasons, and it is incomplete, probably due to a lack of ratings... I also have a suspicion of why the oddity of Batman has gone the way it has, and in extension Superman and Justice League.

1992 - Batman the Animated Series aired on Fox Network (I was 9 and loved it). The series continued for 3 full series, transition from "Batman" to "Batman and Robin" with occasion appearances of Batgirl. There were also two Movies that complemented the series nicely. At the end of this series life span, Fox gave up the rights to the show and sold it to Warner Brothers, who then started to make a new Superman and Batman show.

1996 - "Batman Gothem Knights" and "Superman the Animated Series" appear on Kids WB, where I watched them both for a while. Both of them had the same art style (done by the same art crew) but were different from the Older Batman that I loved on Fox, though still okay. They advanced the story some, moving forward the events of Dick Garysen breaking away from Batman to become the Sexy Nightwing, Bat Girl become a very trusted friend of Batman, and the introduction of the New Robin, Tim Drake. BTW, you can really see how childish Tim is in this show, and if you compare him to himself years later as the leader of the Teen Titans, you can see how much he has grown. The started crossing over Batman and Superman a few times, and even made a "Batman Superman Movie". It was pretty nifty and is obviously the start of the Justice League years later.

1998 - Superman continued into it 3 season, while Batman was discontinued in favor of the creation of Batman Beyond, though I don't think Batman Beyond aired until 1999.

1999 - Batman Beyond went on the air, this was the time I started phasing out of TV. Superman entered into its 4th seasons.

2001 - Batman Beyond can to a halt, and Justice League was created. This also was about the time that the license of the products was then transferred to Cartoon Network, thus explaining the apparent sudden end of both Batman Beyond and Superman. Justice League dominated ratings for quite a while as one of the first truly serious cartoons out there. Justice League was also the first animated show to feature strictly Hour Long episodes, like most Prime Time TV. Justice League was also the Cannon continuation of both Batman and Superman, and very much kept the seriousness of both shows.

About this time, Teen Titans and Static Shock come on the air. Both of them were okay (Teen Titians more than Static), but they were still nothing complained to LJ.

2003 - Justice League comes to a halt (reasons unknown) and the make Justice League Unlimited. Now it might be that JL simply wrapped up its storyline (and since I watched all of it, I can honestly say it did reach a good breaking point.) JLU continued the story well enough, though they went down to half hour episodes, which was kind of lame. Surprisingly, the show still did really well, retained a lot of the plot and story I loved, and was generally kick ass. In addition, JL Season 4 episode 13 was a wrap up episode to Batman Beyond, which was cool (though I know things now I might not suppose to know).

2006 - The final episode of JLU aired, with the promise of a two parter to finish the series. Static Shock came to a end a year prior, and now also comes the end of Teen Titans. Two new shows are coming in the fall, "Supergirl and the League of Super Heroes" which is in a way, a continuation of Justice League, and "The Doom Patrol" which links into Teen Titans. I can only wonder where DC will go from here...
