The journal Nature endorsed Barack Obama for president. When a friend told me this and sent me the link, my first reaction was, complete with caps, "God all these people are so histrionic. If it were legal, I'd be a gambling man. Mostly political wagers. I think I've already mentioned how, the Law permitting, I would bet $200 that Obama will win in November. The latest wager fantasy I have is that I would bet a bottle of wine that Hugo Chavez will still be in power when his term limit expires in 2012.

I've been thinking about writing a post like this for a while, but I've never gotten around to it, both because I am lazy (about livejournaling ... so does that still constitute laziness?) and because my thoughts after a couple years now have simply refused to congeal.
