Today I finally had my first taste of Japanes food.
I wanted to try sushi and company since forever but never had the opportunity, and today I made it!
I admit one of my main concerns about it has always been whether I would have liked it. I mean, I like Japan, I like how Japanes food looks like, but what if after all the hype I end up not liking it

Miso ramen is really good. <3 Lately from the Ramen place I've been ordering Curry Rice which I like alot even though it's spicy and I don't really like spicy foods.
Since I hate seafood I don't like sushi. The only exception is tuna for some odd reason. My mom loves it though, especially uni (sea urchin). It took her a few years to try it because she didn't like the idea of fish being raw.
Did you eat any wasabi on it's own? XD
I love onigiri! <3 There's this little Japanese cafe place near the NYC Library that I like to go to for onigiri. It's actually the only place I've ever seen it sold at... My favorites are the Edamame (soy bean) and Tuna Mayo. :9

When I was at home it wasn't easy at all. I got to eat Chinese once when I was younger, but never Japanese.
Here at Rome is a bit better, probably because it's a big city and has a university of oriental languages. By myself I wouldn't be able to find those places though, even today I got to this cafe just because of my friend XD

Gosh, no XDDD
Luckily I was with a friend who had much more experience than me and told me first what the various things were. When I learnt about wasabi I understood that if I wanted my mouth to stay safe I shouldn't have touched it XD (even because while I was eating ramen I ate garlic by accident and almost burnt my throat u_u"")
At first I was ambivalent between miso and curry ramen, but then I opted for miso just because I really can't stand spicy food. Though I might try it one day, one can never know :)

Transporting raw sushi for any length of time is usually not a good idea. Unless you want food poisoning.
I hope you find a place that sells onigiri. It's not really a restaurant thing. Try to find where the Japanese people buy their groceries. There might be a small convenience store with Japanese food nearby.
