Same old song and dance

I need advice.

My brother's birthday is in 19 days.  He's turning 20.  I want to get him something...  anything really.  I can't imagine not getting my best friend in the whole world a gift for his birthday.  Normally when this happens, I draw or make something for the person, but I can't do that for Dan since he's not really into that stuff.

haha no I didn't think you were being unhelpful. I live in a sort of... very industrial area, so everything around me is malls and franchises, so I'm a little out of luck trying to find small shops (which I would totally love). Etsy was my best bet, but so far I've had my hats I've made up for sale for 4 months and I've had no luck =/ I've really had bad luck with marketing in general, and I'm terrible at writing down patterns so I can never sell those either -_-

Hats or gloves are the most time and cost effective while still being a lot of fun.

Do you think you could make any money off of custom ponies? You're really good at that and seem to really have fun with it. And...there seems to be a market for that with the show being so popular.

I've thought about it. The main problem is time, because it takes me awhile (as you well know) to finish them. I hate making people wait, even if it's a legitimate thing they are waiting for. I'm not sure how big the market actually is. I've seen people offering commissions, but they're either just people who have been doing it for a long time and are very successful because they're already rooted in the general mlp fandom, or they're new to the scene and haven't had much success. I'm definitely in that second category :
