I finally finished hacking out the story "Building Bridges." I did a good deal of editing in the first 2/3 while I was finishing, but I know there will be more revisions to come. And cuts, there will be cuts of extraneous wordage, for sure.
Still, it feels good to have the whole plot worked out on paper, even if the details aren't in the best form yet.
*sigh*
Yesterday we had a dinner party, inviting over friends from church to enjoy some mojo lechon asado. Yummm. The meat was so tender that Deric couldn't carve it! XD Oh and I burned the snot out of my hand gripping the sautee pan we were using to roast the pork. It's usually on the stove so the handle is never hot! Until now.
After food we were talking and saw the ducklins outside with their mama. The count was down from 12 to 10, and one of the 10 had a problem with its little leg. I got the feeling that the next time I saw them there'd only be 9. We tried to catch it...but mama wouldn't let us near it.
In other news, Deric got a call from the BoA (not the singer, the bank) HR dept.. He's now scheduled for a group interview on Wednesday of next week. He's not too thrilled at the idea of banking again, but a job is a job, and if he's hired we can start house hunting.

Sunday July 19th
Food Diary:
Breakfast: Blueberry banana nut oatmeal and 8 oz oj
Lunch: 1 peanut butter and nutella sandwich (yes, it is sinfully good) and 1 large apple, 1 IBC root beer
PM snack: 1 2% mozzarella cheesestick
Dinner: 6 oz mojo roasted pork, 1/2 cup cooked greens, 1/2 cup mashed potatoes w/ 1 tsp chive and onion cream cheese and 1 tsp meat drippings, 1/2 cup mixed salad w/ 1 tsp ranch dressing, 1/2 cup cooked carrot coins w/ brown sugar and butter.
Dessert: 2" slice of jello pie w/ strawberries, 2 peanut butter cookies, 1 tsp nutella (for pb cookies), 1/4 cup ice cream.
I pigged out.
Workout: 1 hour singing/tamborining, house cleaning, burning my hand (sent my heart rate up), cooking a feast single handed (literally).
Today
Food Diary:
Brunch: 3 pancakes w/ light maple syrup, 2 cups caramel tea w/ 2 tbsp chocolate eclair creamer.
PM snack: not hungry
Dinner: 2.5 cups mixed salad: lettuce, grape tomatoes, mushrooms, snap peas, blueberries, pineapple, scallions, and cabbage in 2 tbsp. pineapple honey mustard dressing.
Work out: Does pacing the room trying to think count? We're going to the gym manana.
So that's about it for the weekend. Good news and iffy news all in one.
