Chapter 14
Maybe he should know
“I need to go somewhere,” Ryosuke suddenly walked away.
“Let’s just go to the park,” Yuto said to Mirai. Mirai nodded her head. After a few steps, they reached the park. Yuto and Mirai sat on a bench at the side.
“Yama-chan was really good at soccer. He practiced a lot. I always wondered why he didn’t join the soccer club.” Yuto spoke while his hand was playing with the ball.
“Do you know where his house?” Mirai asked.
“You mean at that time?” Yuto tried to understand the question more. Mirai just nodded her head.
“Nope, we just know at school and meet at this park.” Yuto answered.
“You appreciate him a lot,” Mirai said.
“I’m lonely. My parents were too busy. Yama-chan was the only person who I can talk to.” Yuto said juggling the ball.
“Let’s go,” Mirai suddenly pulled Yuto hand.
“Where?” Yuto was surprised.
“To Yamada-san’s house,” Mirai answered. She kept running quickly.
The house looked so old and haunted. Mirai gulped. Maybe this was a bad idea after all.
“This is Yama-chan house?” Yuto asked. Mirai nodded her head. Yuto looked deeply at the house and started walking towards it. Mirai followed Yuto from the back. If I know this house is so creepy I won’t pull Yuto here. Mirai thought.
“So you come,” A voice was heard when they stepped in the house. They could see a boy was standing facing the window.
“Mirai, please don’t interfere my life,” Ryosuke said boldly and turned to Yuto and Mirai.
“I’m sorry,” Mirai nodded down.
“What happen here?” Yuto asked as he saw a drawing of people shape on the floor and lots of old blood stained. Yuto stepped closer to Ryosuke.
Maybe he should know. Ryosuke thought as he looked at Yuto.
Yuri went to visit Shintaro after he got a report from the doctor that Shintaro had awakened. Yuri could see Shintaro lying on the white bed. He stopped. Maybe he shouldn’t come to visit him at this time. Yuri didn’t know what to say if Shintaro was asking about his brother. Maybe he should know. Yuri thought.
“Chinen-kun,” Ryutaro called excitedly when he saw Yuri was standing in front the entrance of the paediatrics room. Yuri noticed it. He smiled and gradually walked toward Shintaro.
“How are you?” Yuri asked and was pinching Shintaro cheeks.
“Ouch! Fine,” Shintaro answered. Yuri sat on a chair beside Shintaro’s bed.
“Summer has come. Let’s go to the beach. Me, you and onii-chan. It’ll be fun,” Shintaro said joyfully.
“Okay after you recover,” Yuri said and rubbed Shintaro hair until it became messy.
“I dream,” Shintaro said joyfully.
“Really? What kind of dream?” Yuri asked acting he was excited to know.
“I meet oni-chan,” Shintaro said smiling looking at his big teddy bear. Yuri was frozen. He didn’t know how to react when he remembering Ryutaro condition now.
“He save me from someone bad and he said he always by my side.” Shintaro said joyfully.
“I was so happy but suddenly oni-chan fades slowly. I try to capture him but I can’t,” Shintaro tones became sad. He nodded down.
“Shin!” A boy called. The boy came to Shintaro with another boy at his side. Those boys looked like having the same age with Shintaro.
“Chinen-kun, these are my friends,” Shintaro said pointing at the boys. Yuri smiled at the boys.
“Sorry, I can’t play with you today,” Shintaro apologized to his friends.
“It’s okay. I want to go somewhere else. You guys can play with Shin-chan,” Yuri stood up from the chair.
“Eh? That’s fast,” Shintaro said to Yuri sounded sorrow.
“I’ll come back,” Yuri said and patted Shintaro head before he walked towards the entrance.
“So what do we want to play today?” One of the boys asked.
“Don’t know,” Shintaro shrugged his shoulder.
The heart beat monitor was beeping making the room didn’t so silent. A boy was lying on the pure white bed unmoved. He looked like he was in deep sleep. Yuri sat beside Ryutaro’s bed and hold Ryutaro cold hand.
“Shin-chan is missing you. He even dreams about you,” Yuri started a conversation with Ryutaro even though he knew there will be no answer.
“That’s why you should prove to the doctor that their prediction is wrong. You’ll wake up, meet Shin-chan and the three of us will go to the beach this summer.” Yuri said tried to smile even though he knew Ryutaro couldn’t see it.
“You know, Shin-chan still keeping the teddy bear you give him. He hugged it a lot. He always said that is you,” Yuri continued talking to Ryutaro hoping Ryutaro would open his eyes.
“Do you know there’s a new patient at a recovery room?” The boy asked Shintaro. Shintaro shook his head.
“I heard the doctor said he’ll die, poor him.” Another boy continued telling Shintaro.
“What is his sickness?” Shintaro asked.
“He injured badly,” One of the boy told Shintaro.
“Let’s see him once before he dies,” The boy said.
“We already visit him just now before we go to Shin-chan.” Another boy said.
“Once again please. Anyway, Shin-chan didn’t see him yet.” The boy said and pulled Shintaro hand.
“Chinen-kun,” Shintaro was surprised to see Yuri in the recovery room. The boys who came with Ryutaro was surprised too.
“Shin-chan!” Yuri was shocked to see Shintaro was there. Shintaro looked at the person on the bed and quickly recognized him.
“Oni-chan?” Shintaro stepped closer to the bed and his eyes began teary. He quickly went on Ryutaro bed.
“Oni-chan, wake up.” Shintaro shook Ryutaro body slowly. Yuri’s eyes become teary suddenly.
“Oni-chan,” Shintaro called again. The tears flowed down Yuri’s cheeks, watching Shintaro acts made him sad.
“Oni-chan!” Shintaro shook Ryutaro’s body abruptly and burst into tears. Yuri quickly went to Shintaro and hugged him from back trying to stop him from shaking Ryutaro’s body.
“Let me go,” Shintaro said struggling from Yuri’s hold.
“I’m sorry Shin-chan,” Yuri whispered at Shintaro ear hoping he would stop. Shintaro still struggled and suddenly he fainted.
“Shin-chan?” Yuri called Shintaro as he saw Shintaro fell backward. Yuri quickly lifted Shintaro up and pressed the emergency button.
