You know those things at the grocery store checkout where you can have them scan a little tag and give a dollar to help the local food bank or salvation army or some such? I'm always a sucker for those. It's easy to do and if everyone going through that store just gave an extra buck those charities would really be able to do some serious good. I do the same thing around Christmas with the red kettles since I know I'm not really going to miss all the loose change in my pocket and hope it will help someone.
So why the blog post to yammer on about charity?
I found a website that let me paypal a single dollar to help cure ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). That's all it asks form each person and they're hoping to get a million unique donations.
I found them through bzzagent which is a volunteer marketing company; you sign up to try or test something and they send you samples to use and report on. They also link to useful sites and charities.
Oh, and btw I was in the hospital for almost a week with a fever that could've killed me.
