My attempts to experiment with rendering have gone BADLY today, and I am fucking grouchy.
Also, WARNING: If you downloaded my painting collections for Sims 2, get rid of them ASAP!!!! I apparently fucked up majorly somewhere, probably when assigning new GUID's to the objects, because it seems that my clones corrupted the original Maxis objects in my game. *sigh*
Fuckery. FUCKERY.
As for the rendering issue?
I want *badly* to make my metal wall sculptures for Sims 2. I thought it should be somewhat simple with all of today's tech advances to say, take the 2D vector/pathlines from photoshop or illustrator, and import them to a 3D render program like Blender- and that the program would just, you know, magically add the points/trace the paths for me so I could then just do the actual rendery bits.
Feel free to laugh at my naivette.
I have searched and searched, and apparently there is NO WAY TO DO THIS. So I dunno why you even *can* import .eps files to Blender. Point of fact, I haven't been able to, I get a Python error message anyways, so whatever functional use importing .raw or .eps or whatever has, I remain clueless.
So I looked harder, and just found a tutorial for importing a bmp as a background image that you then had to hand-fucking-trace. I tried following it, several times, but it seems to be lacking some goddamn information, because I FOLLOWED the instructions for loading the bmp as the background- and nothing fucking happened. I cannot see my design to trace it.
So yeah. I am angry and frustrated. GRR.
It doesn't help that as always my google fu is weak. I am not a search engine master, and my attempts to find better tutorials or help files have been laughable in their results. *sigh*
